NA Potential Gains
Just throwing a fun question out there. What do you guys think the absolute maximum gains we can see without having to go the forced induction route? Where do you think our cars would top out?

Maybe 425-450 whp, and 325-350 wheel trq?
I bet a full race, hi compression, race fuel/e85 only, 3.5L stoker build with custom ground cams and ported/milled heads, csl intake or some custom ram air/ independent throttle body intake manifold, and maybe some trick meth/ water misting into the intake manifold to cool the charge even more, full catless exhaust and any other bolt on you can think of will maybe do that. But it would be absurdly expensive. Last edited by Calichase; 01-07-2016 at 03:54 PM.. |

I recently saw 360 whp out of an M3 with cams, carbon intake, full exhaust, dyno tune. I'm not sure how much low end power was sacrificed to get there.

Speaking of that, I saw an E46 M3 the other day with his work done. CSL Intake and full exhaust (smog passed in California, not sure of his exact setup) that ran 370whp. I'm not sure if he bored her all the way out though, I don't believe he had. I'll have to ask him next time I bump into him.

This thread helped open my eyes to the N/A potential of the S54 -> http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showt...65722&page=142
Many of those mods are common for the E46 platform but I'm not aware of many/any Z4M that have gone as far. Maybe we'll see someone continue the journey soon edit: As Shane said, check out www.langracing.com if anyone reading this thread is interested in N/A S54 builds.
