Hey guys,

So, a little sad story, my buddy in Germany had an incident with his vehicle and now he has to sell his parts to help compensate the repair. I told him I'd somewhat help assist on the parts side and bought his box to help out. I am going the supercharger route so I obviously can not use this... Its a genuine airbox in great condition. He is getting more photos tomorrow so we can try to sell it and get him back on the road. He sent me the serials for now and is supplying more tomorrow. Box comes ready to rock and roll with no surprises. Not 100% sure if this is an exact fit for the z4m rather than m3.

$6000 obo.

ECU/DME is different and Evolve is working right now on the tune for Z4M. So right now, it would not fit our cars.

I have been in correspondence with both CA Automotive and KKS Performance in the UK and Germany respectively and both offer Alpha-N remote tuning via email for a CSL airbox application. Optimally, the tune would require a few dyno runs.

GLWS on a very rare piece of kit!

Can you make a list of all the parts included? There is more than just the CF parts the make this works into a non CSL car, like oil dipstick, hoses, ...

the only difference between e46 M3 VT1 and Z4M VT1 is the supercharger intake elbow and the tuning part.

the elbow can fit with some custom work as well.

I would push you to purchase this VT1-445 for your car, it's a wonderful upgrade.

It would also be a chance for you to sell this genuine item for such a price as most people would prefer to take FI route rather than spend 6K on a CSL intake. you would need some track junkie dedicated drive like GT4 to be interested in such an item. this is a clear advantage and a winning ticket for you.

Ok - I'll be forthcoming in saying that I'm not looking to sink $6,000 into my car at this moment - but can someone humor me and tell me what, exactly, this CSL intake is doing beyond any other intake? Why is this $6k, other than the fact that its very rare?

This is essentially the end game if you don't plan on going forced induction. Even the aftermarket airboxes of similar design are around 3k-4k.

As to why, part of it is for the performance gain but it's mostly because the sound it provides. Throw on some headphones. 3:30 for the real fun
