Z4C non-M list, production numbers
I think I've solved the production numbers for the Z4C 3.0si in the US at least.
I started with this... Corrected a couple typos, then started a spreadsheet. Also found another 14 in addition. I could be wrong, but I came up with: 2104 total North American 828 Manual 1276 Automatic The year by year break down for each is on a sheet in the spreadsheet. It may not be perfect, as the date for switching to another model year sometimes overlapped in VIN sequence. I used http://www.bmwarchive.org/vin/bmw-vin-decoder.html to lookup last 7 VINs. Here is the spreadsheet, anyone can add info if you would like. LIST It is pretty much empty, I looked up only what I had to. (I did look-up up all the Manuals to figure out the number produced like mine. 1 of 2! ) |

Good to know info for us non-M types. Thanks for the time and effort.

That's because there's such little aftermarket support for the n52 but check out the e90 NA section and you'll find some stuff for tunes. If you click on my garage, you can see my list of mods. Short of headers and intake I'd say my car is pretty heavily modified.

Great information - pretty interesting. (Just noted that my TiAg 2007 Z4 3.0si coupe (manual) has a manufacture date of Nov 14, 2006 - exactly 7 years ago today!).

A side point also worth mentioning is that I just had my first CA smog check last week and the Z4 (with the tuned ECU still in place) sailed through with no problems. |

Thanks for sharing the numbers! I'll have to enter mine in as soon as I get to NC (where my Z is currently)

I've got a 3.0si roadster, AW with dream red seats. No navigation but it's got the upgraded stereo system.

Is it safe to say whatever row minus 1 number represents our production number since the VINs are listed in ascending order? So row 500 is really #499?

830-2105 are the automatics in VIN order, which again is usually production date order. Someone would have to pull all the production dates and then reorder them by date, which would weave the manuals and autos together. So it would likely be pretty close to accurate if you were to say number 500 is the 499th manual made, or 499/828.... |

Great info! It was a little tough to find a coupe. There were only a few to choose from out here on the west coast. I didn't realize how few were produced. Now I feel special.

Thanks for putting this together! Logged mine in there, and it's one of the last ones too.

Thanks for all the hard work you put into the spreadsheet.
I bought a 3.0si coupe this past Friday and have entered it into your database even though I don't actually have it yet. In looking over your numbers it seems that with all 1,815 Z4M being manual transmissions, plus the 828 I counted for the 3.0si, then there would be a total of only 1276 automatics made total for all Z4 Coupes (M or non-M 3.0si). That is less than a 1/3 if we use 3919 as the total made for the NA market (US + Canada) [2104 + 1815=3919] and [1276/3919=0.3255]. Pretty rare if you ask me. |

Here you go:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bzr...ew?usp=sharing Luxury Sport Imports in St. Louis. It's a beast compared to the 2004 2.5i roadster I traded it in for. Sport mode is awesome. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bzr...ew?usp=sharing I snapped this pic in the parking lot the day I test drove it: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1gn-...ew?usp=sharing Last edited by nxs0152; 10-05-2015 at 02:08 PM.. |

That's a really informative website. It was cool to see that my coupe has the M sport suspension. That explains the super low nature of the car ( significantly shorter than civics).
I always go back and forth on modding the car. I just have a feeling I'll regret it one day with how rare the car is. I'll probably just stick to easy bolt ons like wheels , shifter knob, and maybe a complete 3.64 rearend. |
