BMW also offers a module and it runs to the glove box. I've got it and aside from not seeing the playlist artist, it works sweet and is very reliable.

Dice is good, but from what I've heard Intravee II is the best system if you have the factory navigation. I need order one and get it installed before Mfest.

After a lot of research I'm about to order an Intravee II with the Alpine unit for my Z4 Coupe with Nav. It just looks like the integration is done a lot better.

That's correct, you get the track name/id, but no tag information. You name your playlists with BMW[1...5] and those match the 1-5 buttons on the unit. Seems lame compared to the DICE, but the dealer threw it in free so I took it. I keep the clock showing on the unit most of the time so it's no big deal and I tend to memorize my tracks. I can see the value of having the tag information though.

I also have the BMW ipod kit and I'm very happy with it.
I was seriously considering the Intravee for a long while, but finally decided on the BMW ipod kit after Ron had posted his experience with it in the above threads. While it isn't as capable as the Intravee, it did everything I wanted and was hundreds of dollars cheaper. What had attracted me to the Intravee initially was the potential to add more things to the system in the future such as HD radio since it is really just a bridge between the I-BUS and Alpine AiNet components. If you want more information on the Intravee they have a pretty active forum on the developer's website http://www.intravention.co.uk

The Intravee II is $250, and the Alpine module you need is an extra $100. $350 isn't bad.

It's not Ipod integration, but FYI we have an aux in, I didn't even know till I was under there installing gauges. It's right above the ashtray area, on the negative slanting part of the dash.
Only time you would ever see it is with your head on the floor.

The BMW iPod GEN3 kit for the Z4 (65 11 0 035 961) retails at $185, but you can find it cheaper online. It's $138.75 here: http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...?siteid=214760

I think that was added with the MY07 cars. My MY06 coupe doesn't have it.

Rotated screen for watchin videos... The P2s product packaging was really cool in that it was an injection molded plastic snap-in style container...I carefully cut it out to use as a frame to hold the player...you can unhook the plug and pop it out...very secure when attached.
