Help Pimp My Ride
have a new / used 2008 Z4M roadster inbound. have been reading with great interest the Zposts.
would like to personalize my M, but would like some input/suggestions/recommendations from the "pros" on this forum. would like to do the following - AC schnitzer roll bar - wheels and tires (anyone ever put halibrands on a Z?) - exhaust, my 2002M coupe, has flowmaster/muffler delete, sounds outstanding, any suggestions this car will be a daily driver in so-cal. very fussy on quality/fit and finish (we mfg cnc helicopter products, so thats my standard). thanks in advance for any help you can provide fly safe cal |

It's all about personal preference.
Sounds like you have some ideas about what you like and what looks good already. Just go with it and to hell with everyone else My one piece of advise is to resist the urge to go with the stubby antenna

I haven't changed mine out yet, I was thinking to get the 7" one that the S2000 uses. Anyway, I keep hearing pros and that it's the thing to do - but would like to hear your opinion on the cons if there are some? Thx |

And the fact that everyone's first change is the stubby is a little sad.

Thx for the heads-up! Since I have HDR, I need good reception - so maybe I best leave it as is. Too bad, because I like the looks of the solid and shorter antenna. Oh well, no biggie. Thx for your input too Dammmittt.

I've had absolutely no issues with FM reception after going stubby. I think reception will depend on your location. And in either case, the aerial only picks up AM signals... FM antenna is embedded in the rear bumper. Do it (or don't) for looks. It's personal preference anyways. For me, I disliked the R/C look. |

I'm with you on that one, I had to go with a stubby to get my car cover on and didn't want to keep removing it every time. When I'm out on the weekends, the r/c antenna goes back on.

You should bring your beauty out to some of the SoCalZ's meets. We have over 230 Z's in the SoCal area and would love to meet yours. The SoCalZ's do 20- 30 meets per year and have everything from Z1's to Z8's from bone stock to full race Z's. One of the members is in the process of adding an ESS s/c this week on his Z4MC. If you would like to get updates to events e-mail me at imz4n@sbcglobal.net. I am the ZSCCA SoCal Area Rep FYI.

i just personally like the look of the 19s. some people will say that weight is an issue, but the wheels i bought are the same weight as stock but in inch bigger, and a half inch wider.
