You as a kid photographed with your family car

Post a vintage photo of you as a little kid with your family car.

I don't know about you, but I've been a car guy long before I was a BMW fan. For me, it goes back to being a kid in the '50s. My Dad loved cars and specifically GM cars. Every couple of years he would bring home a new (to him) model. I think he usually had a company car or bought one or two year old car to save money and/or drive a higher end model.

I'll start: Here we are in '57 with my Dad's '55 Pontiac. I"m the little one with my eyes closed. I was hooked on cars already. I couldn't wait until September each year when the new models were unveiled.

Go!

So if this was in '57, would it be fair to assume that the picture below is one of you in '54 eating an apple??

Wait...this is the "roast me" thread right?

I can handle it. My 40 year old son loves to tease me and I just think he's trying to step into my shoes so to speak. It's interesting that he has purchased two of my BMWs from me and also the house he grew up in. Following in my footsteps is flattery enough, but he still loves to let me have it for being an old guy.

Just remember, if you are thinking about it, I've probably already done it. Just sayin'

Don't know that any pics of me as a kid ever made it into digital format. Thank God.

My Mom had a Super 8 movie of me as a baby (maybe 2 y.o.?) screaming my head off while my Godmother was trying feed me some Gerbers carrot mush. Carrots and drool and ugliness everywhere. She never failed to pull that movie out at the worst times (like if I ever brought a girlfriend by the house). Then she had it converted to VHS. Luckily that was the end of it.

And now for the challenge: Find that Super 8. Play it and take a photo of the screen with your cell phone. If there is a car in the photo, share it. If there is no car in the photo, share it anyway.

Kidding aside, I have been working on a photo project since the shut in. I'm converting old slides to digital by projecting the slides in the carousel onto the white screen and taking a photo with my dslr camera of the projected image on the screen. They are coming out great. In fact, the photo at the top of this thread was taken that way.

My next project is to project Super 8 movies and make a digital video recording from my camera and, voila, digital movies of old Super 8 rolls. Let's hope it works.

No, I will pull my hair out trying to figure out make and model with almost no clue from the photo. I like a good challenge.
