I hate those warning labels!! Did you use the AutoGlym after to clean up the sun visors?

Yes, I have only used the Autoglym interior protectant and tire dressing, both are excellent products.

New plugs and coils day! Like the alternator before, I love how easy it is on this car!

Coming from some of my previous cars when I first changed my O2s, plugs/coils/oil change in my Z4 I thought to myself my car must be broken it’s just way too easy and accessible to work on it. I actually had a nervous feeling if I was missing something when I was all done.

Well I spoke too soon. Misfire on cylinder 3. I guess I'll just recheck connections.

Whew that was easy. Turns out you can't rely on the lever of the connection to fully seat itself. 3rd coil barely plugged in. Check them all, none of them were fully seated.

Lesson learned!

Yeah those levers are really just to lock them down and lift them out, the coils need your thumbs pushing down until you feel that satisfying click.
It's good that you noticed otherwise you could chase that problem for a while.

3M headlight restoration kit. I thought my headlights were pretty well gone, but they came back not too bad. Not perfect, but much better than before. Hopefully they'll last until I can try to put the new lenses on..., or am forced to pay the exorbitant prices for new ones.

Put a UV protectant clear coat on them and you should be fine. I had the same issue and restored and clear coated them a few years back and they are holding up well.

Yeah I got the 3M kit because it comes with a UV clear coat. I'm glad to hear they hold up well with that.

Retrofitted the Aux/USB from a F10 I found on eBay, I wanted a extra charge port that looked OEM. Only hard part was finding the 4pin to USB cable… other than that it was a success!

would you mind providing the part numbers of what you had to get to install it?

No problem, here ya go.

BMW Aux/USB - [P/N] 84109237653 *make sure it has 4pins on the back for the AUX*

4 Pin to USB A - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0783Q1BXV...roduct_details

Everything else is just hardwiring to your liking.

I fed the wire through the console and out by the passenger footwell. It was very tricky but possible.

right hinge

After replacing the left hinge through my dealer and lasting one day the right hinge went, so they say and now they suggested that I replace the pump for another $1200 as preventive maintenance seeing that everything is apart right now. My dealer was charged $2900 for the left hinge alone. What a racket. I have had three versions of what they did replace and I don't believe any of them. Never saw a receipt since my dealer was paying for it,
I will take a beating but I am getting rid of this Z4 even though I love it.
It is 18 yrs old with 53K on it.

P.S. if you click on my name and then profile you will see a photo of the car and rims. I am having a hard time trying to find out what rims they are as I have to replace two of them. The dealer said they are not allowed to spin balance these particular rims. I am stuck and have to replace them myself.

David, there's a reason a lot of people call dealers.... "stealers". Find a reputable indy shop in your area and stop going to the dealer.

if you take one wheel off you can examine what is written on the back of it to determine the brand and specs. But generally any wheel can be balanced. Not sure what the problem is. But again its the dealer trying to take all your money I think. Wheels can have different issues.

Thanks for the reply belcum.
I have been going crazy trying to find out the rims.
I just got the car back from bmw-another $1700 under dealer warranty plus the first $2900 that comes to $4600 in a month. I think there are a lot of guys driving these older z4's in manual operation.
