BMW Z4M Coupe 2008 front Windshield - where?

Hi guys,

I just got a crack on my windshield while trying to replace the gasket seal ....

I went to the BMW dealer in Montreal, and they mentioned that the windshield part from BMW is discontinued.

I tried calling a few jobbers, and the 4 windshields found are in inventory are chipped or scratched....

If I drive to the USA near Plattsburgh, NY or Burlington, VT where can I order a clean/new windshield for my Z4M Coupe 2008?

Thanks
Sergio

I recommend calling another BMW dealer and inquiring. I recently had to have the windshield replaced in my Z4 roadster. Had to be special ordered from BMW in Germany and took almost a year to arrive. But eventually got it fixed.

They're made in eastern Europe for BMW if I recall correctly. Around $500 for the glass/supplies and $300 for install.

This wait time was/is during the pandemic so that played a part.

I specifically wanted original BMW glass versus aftermarket because I read that aftermarket glass may not always work well with the RLS. Can't confirm nor deny this as fact but figured better to just go with OEM.

I had mine replaced in Fall 2021, took 3 months for the OEM glass to come from overseas. $0 out of pocket - insurance claim on glass coverage

I just purchased one from my local dealership, it is coming from Vancouver and should be here next week, there was 2 in Van.
I thought about buying it as well for exactly this kind of occasion.
Maybe there is some Quebec vs the rest of the provinces thing so the other one in Vancouver didn't show up, or maybe it sold.
Have your dealership contact the Vancouver warehouse.

It was ordered by the glass shop through the local BMW dealership network, and alas, overseas.
