Carbon seats installed, bad idea??

Good morning z4 family!!

installed my carbon fibre tillet seats a few months ago now and i get so many comments on how AWESOME they look BUT.... its also followed by the usual torture device comments too and how uncomfortable they look, and some really strong opinions. So i made a little video on them .... May not be helpful but hopefully someone will enjoy the content

Buckets look incredible, no doubt the butt dyno can immediately feel the weight reduction! I have two friends with the same sets in their track toys (FC RX7, Lotus Exige), both sing high praises of the seats.

You're too skinny Byron...put a bit of meat on and they'll be more comfortable...or swap them for my ABEs

Had those seats, they must be ordered with the factory pads. Otherwise you slide around too much.

Beedub,

Can you tell me about the "ashtray gauges" and where you got the bracket and gauges from? Thanks, Colemme

A big investment no doubt, but they are a massive change for this car in the right direction! the weight 4kg each.... the stock seats were over 35kg!! lol, with the other weight reductions ive made the car has lost around 110kg from stock.

they were by a highly respected japan company called 3D design, sadly they discontinued it some time ago, if i remember correctly they were pretty damn expensive as well, it was designed for stack gauges and looks so perfect in the cabin.
