New SC owner; anyone out there?!
Hello all, just picked up a 06 Z4M Roadster this past weekend and LOVE IT! I'd love to see who all is out there in the local area.

There a few on these boards. I grew up in SC (Charleston, Columbia and etc..) and wish I was back there instead of Chicago. I think there is an Aiken owner named CaseySC or something like that. You might go over to the general forum and post a pic of your new car and location...some fellow SC owners might respond as these regional forums don't get as much traffic.

SC Z4M's
I also have and '06 z4 M and am located south of Charlotte. There are a few very good clubs in the area with regular events. Here is one.. palmettoz.com
Give me a shout. I am probably going to the Greer, SC event on labor Day (Atlanta Club) event and then the maggie valley one in Oct. |

Hello! I purchased a 2006 Z4 3.0i back in June of 2009 and I have also been looking for meet and greets, shows, or whatever. Too bad they don't have the homecoming at the factory in Greenville anymore; that looked like fun.

We should plan a GTG sometime next month when the weather is awesome for some top-down enjoyment.

There are some good drives around here, or we could maybe make a day of it and head up to the Zentrum with a run through the mountains.

That would be stellar. I just need some prep time for the scheduling aspect. I'm limited to Saturdays and creativity. For the most part anyway.

I think that maybe we could commit to a day, time, and route. Then we could post the info on the meets thread here and Bimmerforums. Then see what the response is. My wife wants to do something for some quality time and she thinks that it doesn't suck to have only two seats and go for a drive. Thoughts? What do you think about going to the Cars and Coffee in Charlotte next month? 1st Saturday 9-11am at the Mall Parking lot Panera Bread.

Cars and coffee might be doable. I am not night shift for the next few nights then there are some other things I need to get done over the upcoming week. I can let you know for sure by Tuesday, if that is okay.
As for our own GTG with other Z's, lets plan for something mid to late October. Saturday's are my best bet for doing something. I think at the very least we should plan to take a ride up to the Asheville area and drive some of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Stop at the Zentrum on the way up or on the way back...

Cars and Coffee should be cool. I'm going to bring one of my sons with me. Mid October is a maybe for me. I'm trying to buy a new house and I'm supposed to be closing around then. Hopefully before then but you never know. The wife wants to paint so the honey do list is getting longer as we speak. We will see in a couple of days. I'm heading to Sumter tonight I think. Around 8ish or so to meet up with a guy who is at Shaw AFB and see what happens. He's on the Bimmerforums board. My wife is really itching to get up there to the Biltmore and not just drive around. I just want to drive up there and drive around. She wants to stay for the weekend but with the kids I don't think that's very feasible anymore. Her grandmother lives with us and is very elderly as well.

If you ever see me riding around though, honk like a madman or something. TiAg, CSLs, Eisenman Race exhaust, and some other non-visually noticeable things. I have waved at a few z4s and they didn't seem like very 'enthusiastic' drivers. I would try to join the activities as well . I forgot I had posted on this thread though, and typically do not keep up with the meets thread. Maybe the organizer can send a mass PM to posters in this thread once the plans are finalized? I will at least try to keep up with this thread with more frequency. I know its a meet, but GTG = ? Edit: Just noticed the date on the Cars & Coffee. I'd like to!, but no-can-do for me. I have tailgating/football plans ... Last edited by Neegra; 09-28-2010 at 12:23 PM.. |

^^I know what you mean about parking around here!
GTG = Get ToGether Steve - I am good for going to Cars and Coffee. Let me know when and where you would like to meet up. I will be coming up I20 to get to Columbia then I77 to get up to Charlotte. Which highway are you more convenient to so that we can meet up and drive the rest of the way together?

I'm going up I77 straight to Charlotte. If you are taking 20 then hit 277 to Charlotte and it will come out on 77 north. Take the Killian RD exit, turn left at the top of the ramp, and I will meet you at the Wal-Mart. It's about a 1/4 mile down once you get across the bridge. There's a guy coming that I met with the other day in Sumter. He's stationed at Shaw AFB. It starts at 9AM so what do you say meeting there at 730AM. If that's too early let me know. I think I might be able to get another guy with a sweet 328 hardtop vert to come too. Have to check though.

I just put this up on the "Meets" calendar. I included my e-mail address and will make a list of who's in and who's thinking about it. You can RSVP on the link.

So it starts at 8AM now but the site still says 9. I was reading through their forum and found out. Thoughts?

Well, being that I will have at least an hour drive to get to you in Columbia, I would say that if you want to get there for 0800, then I can meet you there.
Not sure I am up for getting up at 0500 on Saturday morning!

If I leave here by 6, I should be able to get up to the meeting point shortly after 7. It is about 90 miles from my house to the Killian Rd exit.
This is provided that officer friendly is not out patrolling early saturday morning! I may or may not bring the GF, dont know if she will be up to getting up that early...

Count me in. I am 10min off the North Lake Mall. If you guys can be there at 8:00, that would be great, because after 8:30 will be very crowded. I also asked an other member from Charlotte area to join. Hopefully we can get more people. Back in July there were few Z3M over there, hope we can meet them too.
