Really digging the sound of my new exhaust set up!

Recently switched to SS V1 Stepped headers, custom full 2.5" DKF resonated section 1, SS section 2 and SS Race cans (repacked with half scrubble half exhaust mat). I am absolutely in love with the tone now! Combined with the CSL intake I think the car sounds as good coming as it does going. Probably only getting up to about 7600 rpm or so in the video so it can still scream a little more then in the video.

Thanks Bruce! I was lucky to go grab some personal laps during the lunch break and without all the other cars on track you can really hear the car well.

And yup the tires were getting a pretty worn so the handling was getting a bit "lively." Soooooooo much fun though!

Yrs ago, I pitted on a sprint car and the term used was "turn right to go left"....of course meaning on an oval when the rear broke loose you began correcting for oversteer....you were doing it!

Which track? Looks like a challenging lap around that one.

I think that might have been close to the optimal amount of rotation! Its called Englishtown Raceway Park. Small little track but it is like a snake! There is barely a straight when you can relax as its all turning.

Thanks Vanne...Really appreciate the compliment and especially coming from you! Just trying to make my Z4 as cool as the previous version of your Z4 before you went all fire breathing GT3 Z4 on us.

Posting this because I have gotten a couple PM's about my "repacked exhaust" cans and figured I would share it on here.

So I have had the SuperSprint race cans on my car since about 2007 and the exhaust insulation in the muffler was gone. The cans sounded hallow from the outside and when I cut a hole in one of the cans they were completely empty... just some dust left in the cans which was previously exhaust mat. The lack of insulation in the can made the car really oud and drone. I honestly think the exhaust insulation was burnt up only after a couple years of track use.

Instead of buying new mufflers I decided to try and repack my current cans with new exhaust insulation mostly because I knew even if I bought new cans I would be in the same situation in a couple years.

Originally I was going to just repack them with exhaust mat but then i found this product called "scrubble" which is meant for race cars. Its an exhaust insulation made of metal shavings so it doesnt burn up under high heat like normal exhaust mat. Problem with scrubble is it does not dampen the sounds as much as exhaust mat (3-5db higher) so I did a 50/50 mix of exhaust mat and scrubble.

So far it has been holding up great and the sound is amazing. I might try repacking with full scrubble in the future.
