+1 Suscribed. I'd be very interested to know if you would pass CA smog with the full euro setup. I like keeping things OEM, and as I see it the original european spec is more OEM

I hear many E46 M3s passed smog with Euro specs. They all have some ECU tune. I will report back later this year when I am due for smog check.

2 locals shops are having problems finding a 90* 02 bung, and think fabricating it will be pretty hard. Can anyone help?

Where did you find a Euro section 1 and how much if you don't mind?

Section 1 for Z4M is hard to come by. I happen to run across it on this board from a UK user. The best route is to modify an existing US section 1.

Congrats!

So to be clear... the shop just 'unfolded' the needed length from the ECU or you used the original O2's that came with the Euro (longer) ones?

I'm under the firm belief that the cat-count of the Euro section 1's are different than ours (greater count, as it's their primary).

Any rasp?

It looks like your down strem o.2. sensors are too far down the the cat: convetor , and they are picking up unburned HC & CO . I am very confident if you move your o.2. sensor ferder down pass the ceramic interier your s.e.s. light should be fixed...

eh, screw it, I'll just get a blower and the tune will assure I won't have to spend money relocating the sensors

When you lift/remove the heat shield, you will see the flat spots that represent the stock Euro locations for their O2's. That's why they were mounted there (much like others on this forum). It's clear to see where they 'should' go. Can you please expand on your idea so I understand where you're suggesting? Please use my pic as a reference.

Just unfolded the original O2s. I'm not sure if you can call it rasp, but it has a distinct sound over 5k RPM. It sounds like stock during normal driving.

^^^ Hmm. I'm open to others comments about this before I commit to changing the locations of them. My only concern is that you can see exactly where they're mounted on the Euro Sec 1's.

Maybe Rob can comment on their location of his recent install?

I will try to get some pics this week. Have to go back to shop and put it on the lift. I had my section 1 at the shop for a month and don't remember the exact location. It was pretty far back and behind the cat. I'll try to get the pics by Friday.
