Z4M Afe Exhaust w/DKF Resonated Section 1

Installed today. Before and after. There is still a little bit of rasp that I hope will go away once the resonators burn in if that even applies. The drone is deeper now. I may end up going with the Rouge x pipe and Stromung mufflers. I guess I've finally gotten too old for loud exhausts lol

Yeah very little difference on video. I would say that going from stock section 1 (with cats) to DKF resonated section 1 is little difference because the cats played that role to begin with. If you had straight section 1 it would be even worse.

I think you'd need to somehow replace the resonator in the x-pipe to remove most of the rasp and probably some drone, but even then you'd be experimenting with the outcome. Definitely stay away from catless headers for the time being lol.

Hey Jim, I saw in another post you made that you were able to order a resonated section one from Status Gruppe. Are you just waiting on this to come in at the moment or did you cancel that order? I have been searching for a catless, but resonated section 1 for my car. Can you give a little more details on the Status Gruppe offering please? Such as price and lead time and what not?

Thanks,
Quinn

Yes I canceled it because the DKF is stepped from 2.25 to 2.5 inches and the SG is just 2.25 all the way through.

Link below. Just call them and tell them it's for a z4m they will be happy to oblige. They quoted me at 2-3 weeks.

I am actually emailing them now about a catted section 1. They have an identical piece for the E46 M3 with O2 and EGT bungs already welded in. Just trying to decide if it's worth the extra cost of just modifying the OEM section 1.
