Hey all, I've installed M3 CSL style wheel's on my '06 E85 3.0si w/86K miles and getting a little rubbing when I hit a dip in the road. Wheel size: F 19x8.5(35mm), R 19x9.5(40mm) with Michelin Pilot 4s 235/35 up front and 265/30 on the rears. Car has all stock suspension. Rear springs are not cracked but again, they're stock. I've looked at the tires and can't really see where it's rubbing on the rears. I'm getting some very slight rubbing on the outer corners of the front as well. Car was aligned with full negative camber. I've seen where folks have installed this size wheel/tire combo with no issues and have even lowered the car with still no issues. Could it be that the stock springs are just worn? That seems unlikely though.

Take off a wheel and look inside the fender. Could be suspension related, maybe a liner is drooping. Take a look, the wheel sizes look fine.

My maths is really letting me down today. Would 18x8 ET29 on the front and 18x8.5 ET40 work on a standard Z4? I’m really confusing myself with the offsets...

Assuming your car is an E85/86 2003-2008.

By my calcs you will be recessed from the fender lip approx 6mm in front and 16mm in back

https://www.1010tires.com/Tools/Whee...et-Calculator#

My Apex set of 8.5 et 35 fr and 9 et 30 is 6mm recessed in front and flush to fender lip out back

18x8 and 18x9 fitment question

Apologies if this has been asked and answered, I really did look (and do research various fitment guides) but I am getting lost in the numbers/concepts. Will the following fit a 2013 z4 35is without any need for changes to the stock set-up for the car?

Front 18x8 ET35 with 235/40 r18 tires
Rear 18x9 ET35 with 265/35 r18 tires

thanks!

PS these are the specific wheels I am contemplating (the sight says they do not fit but I do'nt understand why...)

They will fit but you'll have some gap in the rear you may want to run a spacer.

Style 393 wheels fit???

looking to change the wife's sport package 18in wheels to 17in wheels for a more comfortable ride and found a set of style 393 wheels. Only difference I can find is the 393's came off of a 428i that uses an M14x1.25 lug bolt versus the E89's M12x1.5 lug bolts. Anyone know if the lug bolt size will affect the fit of the 393's? thanks

Once again I'm here to ask you gents.
CSL reps
235/35 8,5x19 ET 40
265/30 9,5x19 ET 45
Any rubbing on 3.0si without M suspension? I want to put B12 on this car, keeping that in mind, would you go fot it?
I do not want any rubbing at all...
Then again, these are standard tyre sizes to Aplina roadster S (ET 50 on front and rear) and M3 CSL, that is why I am curious.
Should I switch to 225/35 on fronts?

Hello,

I am went through this treat and I was not sure on the response for a specific wheel sizing. I have a 2004 E85 w/the sport package (stock) and wanted to put some 335i M wheels (style 193M) . They have all the same dimensions except for the ET/offset.

Original car specs are:

Front: 18x8 ET47 225/40
Rear: 18x8.5 ET50 255/35

Style 193 wheels are:

Front: 18x8 ET34 225/40
Rear: 18x8.5 ET37 255/35

Does anyone have any experience with this set up or know if they have any rubber due or negative affects on the handling due to the -13 in offset?

The rims you mention are the exact same width and are really just gonna poke out 13mm more than the original car specs. Basically the width of an average thumb. It should hardly make any difference. It would be the equivalent of added a 13mm spacer which is fairly common to reduce the gap from fender to wheel.

Everyone need to start using this:

Okay. I read every post in this thread and I still have a question. I'm looking to pick up a set of these wheels

18x9.5 et35 (Square)
245/35/18

Car: e85 3.0 roadster.

I did all the calculations showing how much more aggressive these will be compared to stock but the front seems a bit too aggressive.
I plan on lowering with coilovers at some point. I can handle rubbing, I just dont want the car looking ridiculous with poke up front.
My question is really about the front. Is that too aggressive? Need a fender roll? Dont buy?

The rears won't fit.

The front will be ok.

Any wheel from the E9X M3 is better suited for the Z4M and any wheel from the F8X M3/M4 is better suited for the the non M Z4.

I ran 513M on my non M Z4 and I'm currently running 260M on my Z4M. No spacers, no rubbing but the tire sizes had to be stepped down a size from what came with the wheels from the factory.
