Z4 Coupe with a 2JZ Film
Hi everyone!
I'm sure most of you have seen the 2JZ in a Z4 Coupe Thread. And if not you should really check it out! Anyway, since August I have been working with the owner (dre99gsx) to make his build into a film (like petrolicious videos, if you're into that). Since the build was already done by August, the film would mainly cover how he did the swap, some of his difficulties, what he uses the car for, and why he did the swap. I tried to cover as many aspects that I could with this build and pack it into the film. As a Z4 Coupe owner who lives in the same state as the owner, and also a filmmaker, this was the perfect opportunity for me! This is very much so a passion project for me! UPDATE: Here is the film! Enjoy! Extra Screengrabs: Last edited by Tlarkk; 01-04-2018 at 09:47 AM.. |

Very nice job with both the swap and the film!
Saw in the film that it's running RE71s? They are fantastic tires for autocross and anything where you can keep the temps down. Since you're doing HPDE/PDX you might want to take a look at the Hankook RS-4s. They like the heat on the track, their grip gets better as you go through a session, and they'll last about 3x longer. Bonus....they cost less than the RE71s.

Love it. Loved your build.
Love the fact that in some shots of the vid you're holding a beer. Ace! Suggestion...plexiglass cutout over the engine. Help people get over the TRD badge |

I've followed this build from start to finish. I'm always in awe of the immense talent of individuals on this forum. IMHO this is one of the best builds going. The video was very well done and the sound of that motor...
Kudos to the videographer and the builder. |

Wow that's well done. Almost Petrolicious quality. Love how the owner of the car (dre99gsx) kept that bottle of liquid courage in hand. It's not easy to be on camera that's for sure.
A coworker and I worked on this (well, he worked on it. I just put two and two together). What you don't see is a bottle of Stella just off the screen. We polished off a 6 pack during the shoot inside the garage.
