They sell wilwood. That has always been an cheap brand (cheap as in money, not necessarily quality, they have been around a long time).
But I never see dust boots on their bbk's so I dont know if they are that suitable for a street driven car that has to withstand all the dust, moisture, grime etc a daily/street car has to cope with. If you overhaul/dismantle your calipers/pistons every year religiously it'll probably do

Agreed wilwood is affordable but of good quality.
Did not notice notice the lack of dust bots. I had a conversation with Lee the owner regarding a non M front and rear kit. Too rich for my blood and really not worth it for my car.

I also looked at wilwood when I was looking around for a bbk.
But I specifically wanted dustboots. my car is not a pure track car. There are always a lot of opinions about the necessity of dustboots, but fact is that every 'production car' has brakes that are equipped with dustboots (to my knowledge, maybe a pagani zonda or something like that doesnt have them, but regular cars do....). Obviously they can fail on very high temps (even the silicone ones), but everything on a brake system can fail at very high temps. Usually on non racecars calipers fail on sticking or leaking and that is always a seal/corrosion/dirt problem. I think wilwood also has specific calipers with dustboots but most kits you see dont have them in there. (and I dont know if it then still is an affordable brand )

FYI I just thought I mention that Endless makes a BBK for our cars but at a premium price, as well as a new and up and coming company called Sparta that makes a really nice BBK for our cars using premium parts like ARP bolts, ventilated pistons, forged aluminum calipers, anodized colors, etc. Their rotors are pretty badass as well. I learned about them couple years back when I visited Active Autowerkes and they showed me of this new company trying to enter the BBK market in the US.

Always use PFC. I like the 11's, really good bite, gives confidence when coming down long straights but they wear pretty quickly so recently went back to 08's which are more enduro like. Can't go wrong with either but just pick same compound front and rear so you maintain factory bias.

By the way I buy my PFC pads from OGracing. Their site is not as user friendly as Bimmerworld but you should cross shop and see what final price shipped runs. Last edited by 3002 tii; 05-01-2016 at 12:32 PM.. |

anyone heard of the CEIKA brand before? Id be interested in Calipers and mounting brackets, id also be interested in retaining the stock OEM CSL floating rotors up front.
