Factory sound system....Please help!
Hi all. I am wondering if there can be any modifications on the stereo system of a 2004 Z4 3.0i. I imported the car from the USA. Car radios in the USA are programmed to tune in ONLY in odd number radio stations (i.e 102.5 etc) and NOT in even number radio stations (i.e 92.6). As a result I cannot tune in even number radio stations here in Greece...which is very frustrating!!!
Does anyone know if this can be fixed easily and inexpensively? or I will have to buy a new radio....? Thanks in advance |

I saw this recently. I'm not sure if it'll work, but try it

These forums have a wealth of info. A lot of times they are a better source than a BMW dealer. |

Ironically, even though the video helped Satyros, I can't get it to work myself.
Would someone mind trying this out and tell me whether it worked for them? I keep trying but I'm doing something wrong...

Thanks you all for the input!
But I DO NOT have the Nav system either. I just have the Business CD radio. I would greatly appreciate if someone could shed some light on this. When I hold down the 'm' button, I get no '+' or '-' sign on the RDS screen, which is right next to the main one....

Yes, I keep holding it down for a while until the serial number shows up...

I used NavCoder to set the navi to Europe versus US.
Gets rid of the nag screen and gives distance to next turn in yards instead of feet. Maybe this setting will let you tune the FM to even tenths?

Not off topic but a little different..,
On my factory sound system, I find I have to turn the know quite. Few turns for the volume to increase/decrease... Is there anyway to make it go up/down volume wise much quicker with less turns of the knob?

May be something different but an E36 I used to have did the same thing (before eventually COMPLETELY crapping out). The potentiometer that receives the input from turning the knob on my car had broken, it just got worse and worse until one day I couldnt adjust the sound at all. I hope this isnt your problem because the only way to fix it was to replace the whole radio.

figured it out. the plus and minus buttons used are the hard buttons on the left side of the radio.
