I got an email from Peake saying they don't have anything to reset my srs light=/
I'll do a search to see what else can do it, but does anyone know of another tool that can do it? I wish there was an obdII tool that just connected to my laptop that was able to do it or maybe there is.

Unfortunately, you are stuck with going to the dealer. If you lived closer I would have you drive to CT as I have a GT1 (the BMW diagnostic tool), but hopefully they should only charge you a half hour of labor to shut the light off.

CFoote, would you be able to activate the alarm using your GT1?

I believe there's an iPhone app for that, but you need a dongle that plugs into the ecu that costs about $150. I'm sure there are other similar solutions for other platforms....

Thanks CFoote, I appreciate that. Someone responded to my craigs ad and said he would do it for me, so hopefully he has the right tool. The dealer wanted $140 and another shop wanted $85, so I was going to go to the bmw/mini shop then got the reply on craigs.
I checked the site Shwank, but it didn't mention resetting the srs light. I think it only does engine codes for now. That would be awesome if there is more apps like that. I have an Evo, so I'm sure android will or already does have some similar apps. I had a cable that plugged into my A4 and had a freeware program that worked with it. I haven't seen anything like that, at that price since, that did all the things it did. |
