I haven't, honestly the time involved, and the material cost I don't think anyone would be terribly interested, this was more of a labor of love, special install for the wife.
I bought all of the fiberglass supplies at West Marine, probably not the most cost effective place to get it. I used Epoxy resin as well which drove the cost up significantly. Material cost was around $275-$300 or so, and I invested several days of time in it. Mass producing off of a mold would be cheaper and faster, could use polyester resin instead but I would still estimate an end user cost of over $350. I doubt anyone would pay that. |

Can you give me the reason why you chose the Alpine head unit? Do you know if it would be plug'n'play with the current system I have? I've got the carver system in mine and I'm seriously considering changing the head unit since I haven't been able to get the mediabridge to work right. Thanks!
BTW, superb job! Wish I had your skills!

I chose the Alpine unit due to previous experience with Alpine. I installed a similar HU in my Wife's S2000, she was already familiar with the controls. It is not plug and play with the stock system. And I don't have a good history with Media Bridge either.... |

Great job on the sub enclosure. I plan to do something very similar in place of the battery cover in my coupe. I moved my battery so it's asking for a sub.

Great build! I am working on a complete tear out and replace myself. Quick question:
You removed the factory "everest BUS" correct? Did you need to connect the IN and OUT antenna leads to retain the antenna connection? If so, which ones did you connect together and how? Thanks! |

I'll get some pics posted up tomorrow. Here is a list of the components I used.
Focal Access 165 A3 3 way component speakers Alpine CDE HD149BT head unit Alpine MRX-F35 4 way amp Alpine MRX-M55 mono sub amp Alpine SBR-S8-4 Sub with enclosure I installed the component speakers in the front door and kick panel locations with slight modifications. I kept the rear mids and hooked those to the rear channels of the new amp. Both amps and crossovers are installed on the back of the "bulkhead" where the factory amp and blutooth unit were. I'm very happy with it so far. I will start a new thread and post pics and more info asap. -Steve |

Just curious, but how did you manage to bring the cables from the front to rear of the roadster?
I looked and tried to figure out how the stock stereo wire was being routed from the front headunit to rear amplifier and it looks like it goes through driver's side door sill area. I wanted to place the aftermarket amp in the rear and route the cable through the passenger side and looks like I can't do it under that side door sill without drilling some holes. Is there a good way to route the cable somehow? |

I ran the antenna wire for my sat radio through the center console.
Just stuffed it under the edge along the section with the shifter and brake. Removed the console between the seats and the carpeting in the trunk. (PITA) Big ol' hole between the console and the trunk.
