Although I completely agree LSB would be dead sexy, matte black will get way more attention as a "custom" paint job goes. Will get more of an initial WOW factor. NOW, whether you regret it in a year or not is another story all together.

i also took a picture of a factory painted matte silver merc e63 amg at the march coffee and rides meet in san antonio. i think matte black is a bit bland looking on anything other than a murcielago, whereas a matte *insert actual color* is more appealing. either way, u'll be a lot less worried about dirt and dust than us normal paint folks.

Good luck with the project. That matte silver AMG looks a bit like primer.

Here is list of suggestions from BMW: * Never polish or wax the frozen gray paint as it could lead to a glossy surface. * If washing your frozen gray M3 in a automatic car wash (you should be killed) choose a car wash that does not apply vehicle wax. Rinse the M3 with high pressure water to remove dirt before sending it through the automatic car wash to avoid scratches from sand, dust and other micro-particles. * Remove bugs, bird poo, tree sap, tar, fuel spills or oil immediately using a soft sponge. * Avoid strong rubbing while cleaning the frozen paint. BMW sells suitable products for maintaining the frozen paint at your local dealer. * Repairs to the paint (scratches, dents, etching) must be completed by a BMW trained body shop. Most auto body shop will not be capable of repairing the frozen gray paint. FYI...BMW required their owners of the "frozen gray" sign a waiver on the paint job! |

Hahahaha! Believe me....I want that car painted bad! All the trim work is done and the car is primed and sanded. Should be ready in a week or so. I am still waiting for my CF lip and diffuser from Arkym. But pics will definitely be posted as soon as it's all done!!! I miss my baby!

Although care for the paint is one thing that I've heard to be a draw back, but, it's not like I'm already OCD about my baby! It'll be worth it and I think you'll agree when it's all done bud!

[QUOTE=tekmoe;9322389]Don't listen to the naysayers, yellomasta. A proper matte black paint job is SEX.
Here's a shot I captured last month at the Cars
