S54 CSL Intake - Turner Pre Order

FYI - looks like Turner Motorsports has their own supplier or is redistributing another existing design. Pre-buy at $1,499 usd. Z4M fitment is confirmed.

Interesting...I remember when they started carrying Karbonius it was a big thing (they were much more expensive, but ordering within N. America with no lead time is a plus).

These seem to have a unique unfiltered section that works without a separate snorkel. This should be a plus for us Z4M guys as the CSL snorkel doesn't fit without major modifications and running without one (like I'm doing) looks unfinished.

It doesn't seem as polished as other offerings like Karbonius or Streamline (QA issues I'm experiencing aside). Right away I notice the weave from the two halves don't line up at all on the gloss version. Although they seem okay on the matte version so maybe it's a pre-production of sorts?

Having been through this I'd personally just go for the tried and true Karbonius offering which is (after shipping) around the same price as this and experts comment that current Karb offerings are as good or perhaps better than OE CSL intakes from Die Wethje.

Universal vote seems to go to Karbonius for the best option. Would be interesting to organize findings and information for all options - OEM, Karbonius, Evolve (Eventuri), Bimmerworld, Streamline, Geoff Steel and VAC Motorsports.

Some of these have to be coming from the same manufacturer and likely identical design.

Streamline just redesigned their airbox and from pictures they seem absolutely amazing in terms of finish . Price is 1250 euro before VAT but I think ppl from NA won’t have to pay the VAT which makes it cheaper than any other airbox .

No VAT but I had to pay taxes on my Streamline box when it was received through customs ~$400 CAD.

The workmanship and look of the box is top notch, quality is TBD (my first run box is having some issues but customer service has been fantastic).

In discussion with turnermotorsport on instagram they say that they are finalizing a software to go with the kit and it may or may not be included in the price

Nice boxes, one issue I see is the iat location for the sensor. It should be put as far from the hot section as possible.

Looks to be in the same spot as both OEM and Karbonius, probably didn't want to fuss around with relocating. Though the ambient heat from the oil filter housing is pretty substantial.

My IAT bung is in the unfiltered section, and tbh it's a pain to have to remove everytime you take this piece off.

So turns out the pricing they originally published for the pre-order was wrong (or they reacted to meh feedback regarding a close price with Karbonius), so it's been lowered.

At $1,500 this is A LOT more reasonable, however I think I would still splurge for an OEM clone from a reputable manufacturer.

Pricing updated on the initial post. Curious to see how this piece turns out, not sure I want to be a guinea pig and participate in the pre-order.

Let’s just hope they don’t outsource to same company that produces ECS’ “in-house” products...
