Rogue Engineering X-Pipe

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
Sold

Item Interest
New price $1.86 Yes really. (Stupid pricing tool won't let me put in pennies so it says $2.)

I bought this used from a forum member. However I was unable to get an acceptable fitment with this piece and my Eisenmann Sport rear cans, so it is back up for sale.

I suspect it is an early unit, which from what I have read had some fitment issues. As the pictures show it has a piece added on one side. Based on my fitting experiences this was done to equalize the lengths, and to that end it worked very nicely. But I could not get the vertical alignment I wanted, and I lack the tools to manipulate the pipe to suit my needs.

The piece is in good shape overall as the pictures will show. The added-in piece might look rusty in the pictures but I'm pretty sure it's stainless like the rest of the unit, discolored from heat of welding. The welds keep the flange fitting on that side from moving downward but it will rotate. I had no problem getting bolts lined up.

Even at this price I'm willing to drive halfway to deliver, up to several hours. Maybe you can buy lunch. I will ship but it would be "drop it off at the shipping site and buyer pays for the entire cost" deal. Last time I checked that was $everal hundred$.

This is definitely your least expensive chance to own an RE X-pipe. If you have more tools than I do, or if you know a good exhaust shop, I'm confident you can make it work.

Hi there!!

The vertical alignment of the mufflers is set by rotating the flanges. I had the exact same issue with the super sprint x-pipe I bought and I was about to give up completely and install the OE thinking the problem were the x-pipes. I just couldn’t believe I had bad luck with two different pipes. Believe me, that day I had the same issue with the SS I wanted to cry!

I am sure this was the issue I had and I did not need replacing anything. When I bought the car and had the Stromung mufflers they where spot on!!!

Pro-tip, if you set the flanges more or less horizontally the mufflers hang low. It helps to lightly tighten the flanges of the pipe and muffler and start spinning them around, you will see what position rises the mufflers as you spin them, then support the muffler and tight the flanges, it may be that you will need to tighten one side of the flange more than the other to achieve the perfect placement (side to side).

This was an $800 lesson I learned (the cost of the SS x-pipe)

This is the person I bought the X-pipe from. I can't say that I tried every combination of flange rotation when I was trying to align the mufflers, so this may be the issue.

I priced shipping to Canada for one interested party. It ain't pretty. I think someone in the Mid-Atlantic region or thereabouts is going to end up with this. Make me an offer.

Have you seen this installation guide => https://www.zpost.com/forums/showthr...r+installation

You should give it another try as the RE X-pipe will bring those Eisenmann Sport to life!

Eastern Pennsylvania. I am more than willing to do a bit of driving in order to ensure that it finds a new home. Texas may be a bit far though!

I知 currently in Brunswick Georgia though lol. So that extended add-on piece, is there any air leaks or issues with that section?

Not sure if I知 understanding correctly, but you had problems installing this X pipe in your car because you couldn稚 get your mufflers to line up properly on the rear bumper?

Georgia is a bit better. It was an alignment problem, not a leak problem. I could not get the mufflers and the x-pipe to cooperate on being in the places I wanted them to be.

New price. $1. It must have fit someone’s car else it would not look so well used.

Given the recent upswing in prices I decided to drive a harder bargain. It finally went to its new home yesterday, and I got $3.86 for it! Thanks for meeting me e36taylor and thanks for the ice cream.
