Previous posts and threads like this on other cars indicated they are just tacked-on plastic for a while. What we see now is probably the real deal. Previously though, no.

I don't dislike it as much as I previously did, the boxy nature is growing on me a bit, but if I'm honest it's too far from the F87, just like with the new M3/M4 grill, I mean IMO they should do a transition model before changing everything if they really want the public to accept their new designs. But as I've read, they might just not care. "This is our new design, and we know you'll buy it, so say what you will."

Front end and grills looking [really] good ... fenders looking [really] bold -- especially the rear fenders... rear end and trunk lid looking [really] awesome ... 6MT = Hallelujah!!! ... S58 at 455 hp --.

Only concern is the earlier pics of that weird electronic dash. What's that all about???

Just tell me it will come in cool colors!

The wait is killing me!

This could be a really nice looking car with no noticeable weaknesses. Unfortunately, the taillights of the new 2 Series are among the ugliest design elements BMW has ever used. I'm not a permanent hater who hates on all new BMW models and claims everything was better in the past, but I lack any understanding of how this could be approved.

But nevertheless, I'm still excited about this car.

I never really warmed up to the f87 looks, always seemed a little chubby to me. I think “less round” on the new one will be a good change.

Excited for this. I will probably get one at some point tbh. The M2 Competition is one of my favorite cars I've ever owned.

This is a great take. I myself like the new M3/M4, and also like the new m240i. So I'm sure I'll like the new M2 as well. However, the massive pivot in design language/style from the prior gen is pretty jarring.

It is looking more and more like the leaked front bumper was legit. It is starting to grow on me a bit, as I hated it at first and did not want to believe it was actually going to look like the leak. I still like the look of the current M2C more, but holding out hope until the actual reveal happens.

well sadly this probably will be the final bumper because BMW is deep into the development of the M2 so they wouldn't change it this late

No, you're right, it does look chubby, and sort of like a cow from certain angles, which several automotive journalists have noted.

Other than the intake openings, I am having a hard time noticing any differences between this and the m240i. It doesnt seem to have the noticeable difference in styling that the og m2/2 series did.
