The Pike Logan/Taskforce books are good - I'm reading one right now.

I also really enjoy the Nathan McBride books.

Sorry, I'm bad with authors. I travel for work, so I exclusively read on my Kindle, but I do have a soft spot for "real" books.

Not directed at me, I know, but I read the entire Reacher series. I agree the first books were much stronger than the last few.

I love David Drake in addition to all of these as Isaac Asimov. I've probably read the Foundation series 10 times. So! Freaking! Good!

I'm George R. R. Martin can be a bit tedious with the prose at times. It shouldn't take 18 pages to describe someone raising a flagon to their lips for a drink.

I think one of my favorite books is STILL the original Dune. As the series continued, it diverged so much from the pure imagination present at first that I couldn't follow.

So now my inner geek is emerging. Should we start a Non-Porn (This is important because of where we are, BP-OT) Book Club. We all recommend a book, vote on it, then read and comment in a thread created specifically for that tome?

What do you think?

I really enjoyed Black Cross. It grabbed me and had me riveted by page 2. Ironically, I held off reading it as it wasn't "my kind" of book. I think the Penn Cage series win.

Thanks! (And MK) I’m going to give that series a try, I like the idea that it’s a series plus I’ve read a lot of WWII books fairly recently ...

Be prepared to not be able to put the book down. The good part is you don't have to wait for the next one to come out. You can binge read. At one point he went a few years in between books. I was flipping out waiting.

Cruise bought the rights to all the Reacher books. I heard when he can't do the stunts for Mission Impossible anymore he figures he can do all the Reacher movies. But that little dude as Reacher really is a joke.

I guess if you didn't read the books, it doesn't matter. I picture a Liam Neeson type being Reacher. I'm trying to think of someone younger that fits the bill.

If you didn't read the books (or at least hear about the character) then why watch the movie? Reacher's physical size is one of the most important parts of his character.....sorry for being off topic.
