Seat mount differences E85 v E86

I'm trying to figure out if the coupes use different mounting points for the seats vs the roadster.

Several companies advertise bottom mount seat brackets that they claim are specifically for the coupe. I talked to a rep with Corbeau today and they specifically said they don't make a bracket that fits the roadster.

However, looking at BMW's part numbers, the seat brackets for the coupe and the roadster are the same part.... I'm guessing they've just only validated it in the coupe and don't want to commit to it fitting the roadster without testing.

Can anyone here verify that the aftermarket brackets labeled for the e86 will also fit the e85?

Don't worry, they are the same. In fact, they are shared with the E46 so any E46/E85/E86 will work.

- My VAC brackets stated Z4 on them and did not specify between coupe/roadster
- My Brey Krause brackets were actually for the E46 but fit my E86 perfectly
- E85/E86 M Seats are a common swap on the E46

Can also verify the Corbeau E46 bracket slider fits in the Z4m roadster. However, it was higher than my VAC mount with bracket and slider with the same seat installed. If you had to clear a broomstick and you were on the taller side, you may have some issues

Thanks for all the input. I ended up buying a set of VAC brackets. Should be here soon.
