Thanks everyone. 3798j is correct, it's a Borgward Goliath. The guy who owns it thinks it's worth $5k, so it's been sitting there for quite a while.

Utah and Colorado are by far two of the most spectacular states in the country. It was a shame we had to zip through them so quickly to get home. The trip was 9 days of driving over 6000 km/3800 miles. I don't know how we added over 1000 miles to what is a 2500-mile direct route because it didn't seem like we went that far out of the way to visit some friends and relatives!

I didn't want to load down the other post too much, so here are a few more.

Looking very brown in this one!

I like how it's desert camo in this one. (And it was 25 degrees.)

Did you find it on Rennlist? I think I saw that one. Pretty funny, I just took one out of Canada and you're bringing another in. Gotta keep the balance!

....most Z travel south to North; not many do it the other way around.
Is it a Canadian spec car or had it been imported by the previous owner?
How easy was it importing to the USofA?

I did. It is not as pristine as I had hoped for 30k miles, but that's okay. I'll either fix it, or just drive it and enjoy it without worrying so much about its pristineness.

It was originally a US car, so besides the humorless verbal hassling from the chest-pounding US border agents, there was no problem bringing it back. Even after they told me I *needed* to have a letter from the manufacturer. I said well, I don't have one, the labels on the car say it's US legal... they tapped at the computer for quite a while, stamped the form and sent me through. I just need to get the odo changed back to miles, and do an oil change... and find the gronking noise now coming from the front end in low-speed inclined driveway turns. Bushings or something I hope?

Were any Z4MCs made for Canada? The title on this one says "No brand" because there was no record of its model in the Canadian database. Someone else also said they were only US-spec with MPH speedos.

we got the same car made in Spartanburg with a slightly different Canadian spec.
For example Canadian cars had power folding mirrors.

Interesting, I wonder why they couldn't enter it on my car's title then. Are those Canadian coupes part of the 1,815 total, or is that just the US?

Haha, yeah, this is an awesome shot. The bronze looks quite different in it than usual--more saturated or something.
