Bluetooth OBD Adapter

I have a 2007 Z4 M coupe, and an iphone 12. Today I downloaded Bimmerlink, and now I need your recommendations for a Bluetooth OBD II adapter compatible with the Bimmerlink and my iphone 12.

Thanks for your help as I've been searching adapters and have achieved nothing but a bit of confusion for myself.

AFAIK, bimmerlink/bimmercode doesn't support E85/E86

I use an old windows laptop, $15 cable with NCS Expert, INPA and ISTA+, does coding, diagnostics, schematics and service manual, really doesn't get any better than that, though I little more clunky than a bluetooth dongle with a mobile app, lol.

That looks to be comprehensive. I'm closer to 71 than 70 years old and I get around pretty well with my laptop, but the software you listed is foreign to me and I'm not certain I can get them up and running.

Fair enough, I'm not far behind you, lol. I thought the installation was fairly easy, though everyone's different. ISTA+ replaced INPA, so if you only care about diagnostics, reading/clearing errors and the service manuals, you really only need ISTA+.
NCS Expert is for customized coding, i.e. windows up with remote, disable bulb checks when using LEDs, etc...

I have the ISTA+ loaded on my laptop. Which cable do I need for OBD II and laptop connection?

K+DCAN USB, they usually say IPNA compatible. Maybe order one off amazon that accepts free returns so you can return it if it doesn't work for you. I've had mine for ~15 years so can't provide a link to the one I'm using.
