Pin Attachment for Battery Cover

The 3rd pin for my battery cover will not stay in.

I bought the metal clips (46-63-7-684-304) and pins (51718215962) and they fit the other two pin locations fine. The metal clip will not seat in the plastic clip holder attached to the battery tray.

Is there a different clip/pin part no. for the 3rd pin location or is my clip holder defective? Any one have a part number for the clip holder?

That plastic holder doesn't need the metal clip. The pin should be able to just slot into it directly

I didn't use a metal clip, just clicked into place and secured it with a self tapping screw.
It is not a very well thought out design and they break easily.

The bottom pin just flops around on mine and keeps falling out. I would have preferred the bottom pin to insert into a metal clip like the top and middle pins.

The way some things are designed on this car are really aggravating.

That sounds like that plastic holder has opened up somehow. In that case, you'll have to modify it to accept the metal clip. The original plastic holder wasn't designed to be used with the metal clip.

I think I opened it up trying to shove the metal clip in there.

I bought this kit because the various under hood and inner fender well fasteners on our vehicles have broken. There is a large variety of fasteners in the kit. There are probably smaller kits available.
