Complete Interior Swap: Beige to Black

I knew that I had to have my Z4 in Hellrot Red, but I also knew that beige was never gonna sit well with me. I personally prefer darker interiors and it didn't help that my Z4 didn't come with sport seats either

So, I started sourcing parts as soon as I bought the car earlier this year. I went after either new parts from my dealer (at sweet discount) or calling around breaker yards for those either discontinued parts or where cost as new was too prohibitive. Most of the big parts were obtained used from low mileage and clean donors. Most of the smaller parts were acquired as new. The shifter boot was luckily sill available from BMW, but the ebrake boot is discontinued. For that I ended up getting it from redlinegoods.com and it was a perfect fit.

All of the soft touch pieces acquired as used were sent to a forum member Texaz3 to have refinished. Needless to say they came out awesome - color match was perfect and they blended in very well with the rest of the interior.

The only issue I ran into was the inability to remove the old carpet without cutting a small piece of it. Same small piece had to be cut to get the new carpet in. The dash would have needed to come out to avoid this but it's not worth the effort or risk of inducing creaks and noises. It's impossible to see the cut, even with the center console out.

At the suggestion of my wife, I thought I would document the process (time lapse) and post it up on Youtube since I spend so much time working on my cars.

Roughly $2.5K. The most costly were the seats (obviously). I'm aiming to recoup at least half of that selling the beige pieces.

Do you have a list of beige pieces for sale? I'm not in a hurry, but I've got a few trim pieces in my red/beige e85 that I'd love to replace

I've sold a couple of parts, but the majority of the big ones are still available here: https://www.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2059078
