Need help finding GM5 Module on 2005 Z4

Hello, im trying to find the GM5 module on my 2005 Z4. I’ve looked at multiple guides showing me it should be behind the glovebox/fuse box area, i’ve pulled out the glovebox and can’t find it just a big empty area behind the fuse box. None of the guides have been much help.

Crappy pic i took-

Indeed a crappy picture….

In the foot space under the glove compartment…remove that finishing panel… the GM5 module is attached to it on the right hand side (closest to the door).

The key repair service looks great - thanks for posting!

I have both original keys and for one of them, the remote functions don’t work. A new one from BMW is $350 Canadian and possibly another $150 if programming is needed, for up to $500 cold hard Canadian dollars. The GM5 site can repair the key for a fraction of that. Yay!!

The passenger kick wall? I don’t see anything there either

I also removed this panel…there were a couple screw holes loose but nothing was mounted to it, and i can’t find any plugs that are obviously not connected

I actually can't say enough good about this fellow. I removed my GM5 & mailed it to him for repair to California on a Monday, from Pennsylvania & received the repaired GM5 back by Friday of the same week. Just totally unreal and the repairs to the GM5 corrected all of the problems.

The panel I refer to is “under” the glove compartment…. It has the light that lights up the foot well.
