Z8 coupe!
Well, sorta. It starts life as an E86. We coupe owners will see the familiar hatch and roofline pretty quickly. Beautiful rendition if you ask me.

You beat me to it! Also saw this the other day. Beautiful interpretation of the Z8 concept car.
I may have to inquire if just the body can be purchased. I would prefer to leave the running gear alone. More info: https://www.autoblog.com/2021/09/22/...pe-sve-oletha/ https://www.roadandtrack.com/news/a3...-coupe-oletha/ |

Looks to me more like a modern interpretation of the old XKE Jag. Lovely lovely lovely

It's nice but I don't know if it's worth $500k. I'm sure the S65 in this chassis would be quite fun though. I'm also curious what transmission they're using because the tunnel is quite tight. Does anything else even fit besides the 3.0i or Z4M ZF 6MTs?
The total lack of any interior photos is a little suspicious too. I would want to know how much they changed because the quality of the E85/E86's plastics don't hold up for this year let alone that price point. |

Besides these folks somehow managed to put an E9x M3 tranny into Z4 https://www.hotcars.com/bmw-z4-monst...0-engine-swap/ |

All that but what happens when you open the door and see the nav boot up haha. Hopefully they took a Singer approach to the interior and spruced it up as well to justify the price tag.

Wow, I'm extremely surprised that the E9X M3 transmission fits when the E46 M3's Getrag doesn't. I always heard that the reason the Z4M uses a ZF 6 Speed based on the one in the 3.0si is that they couldn't fit the Getrag in there. Maybe this is using the E9X's 6 speed manual too then since it has the engine from it. |

So, I saw this a week or two ago on the E90 Forum; there was no mention that it is based on the E86. Reading the company's website at that time, I couldn't figure out if they built the body in white and then added the BMW bits to it; their website says they do not build chassis. I didn't look close enough at the pics until now and feel foolish that I didn't spot the E86 rear quarter window and roof line. I arrogantly suggested in my E90 Post reply from a few weeks ago to that thread that I'd rather just swap in a modern Chevy small block into my Z4 Coupe.
I still stand by that statement (if I wanted that level of power under the hood - I don't). I think the Z4 Coupe looks better than this attempted rendition of a Z8. To me this has Z8 poser written all over it. And I'd be hard pressed to find a better interior than what is already in the Z4 Coupe, especially if it has the extended leather and M-sport seats. No offense meant to anyone.

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."
