AST Adjuster Extender kit on non-AST setups??

http://www.vorshlag.com/product_info...roducts_id=287

I don't need to tell anyone that's installed coilovers how much it sucks dealing with the trunk carpet. I have a set of TC Kline coiloverss and wanted to know if anyone has used the AST extenders to make adjustments easier on non-AST coilovers. Its a simple set screw, so I think it should work. Worse case, its $45 bucks.

I would assume something as easy as calling TCK or Vorshlag to clarify and it will solve your answer.

Depending on the knob adjustment head. I know what TCK's look like but no clue as to what ASTs are.

Worst case is that you can machine some yourself. Take a metal rod, cut a slit in the bottom of the rod and get a metal coupling of some sort to hold it together.

My friend custom machined an adjustment rod just like that from a screwdriver for his fronts because with the camber he was running, he couldn't get the adjustment head over top of the rebound adjustment....if that makes any sense.

Great build thread here. See the rear shock piece in the index-I think it may help.

Thanks Finn, that's where I saw them. Thanks KGolf, I'll give TCK a call, was hoping to avoid the "it should work" answer from the vendor. Hate the carpet layout in the trunk...

I just cut out holes in my trunk trim right above the shock towers for easy access

Give Rogue Engineering a call. I bought their rear shock adjustment tool a few years ago (for my TCK and GC rear shocks) and it works great. Good build quality & material. I used a hole saw to cut a couple of small openings right above the rear shock adjustors, and found a couple of plastic caps just the right size at Lowes. Now it takes less than 1 minute to adjust both rear shocks.

Yep, looking to do exactly that. I'll give the kit a go. Will trim down rod for driver side.

Yeah!

If you are ordering from RE, you might as well pick up some reinforcements

+1, I picked up both reinforcements for shock towers and reinforcement for the rear perches. Keep in mind front shock tower plates will need to be TRIMMED if you're using camber plates.

Good point, I already had front reinforcements. I forgot to mention those.

http://www.rogueengineering.com/rogue/REIN/REINFT.html

What did you have to "trim" to use the front plates? I didn't have any issues installing them, but haven't made any adjustments since they have been in (outside of alignment).

The inner ring/lip can inhibit the plate from full movement

Wanted to close this one out. If you have Koni's in the rear, you owe it to yourself to pick up the RE adjuster kit. Its a breeze to install, just use an awl and punch a hole through the carpet and push the rod through; mark the height and cut to length.

Thanks RE!

RE adjusters are great. But has anyone ever tried to install them in a roadster?
