Custom cluster gauges

Ever since I bought my M coupe the one thing that has seriously bothered me is the American MPH speedo, since the KMH is so small and hard to read. The Canadian cluster isn't a dual MPH (outer) & KMH (inner) and only shows the KMH on the outer ring so much cleaner. I finally was able to find a Canadian cluster to make the swap but I decided to also change the color of the faces.

I got these made by a company in Poland called VENOXY. Now that I have both sets MPH and KMH, if guys are interested I could scan the MPH, delete inner KMH to simplify the gauges. If there is enough interest I could set up a group buy.

Let me know what you guys think

Looks amazing!

I heard it was difficult to change the clusters. How was the process?

Actually it wasn't hard at all, I can probably change the faces in about an hour. The hardest part is poping the needles off and then putting them back properly aligned but overall pretty easy. I actually filmed it so I'll put a DYI video together when I get the chance.

Here's a pic of the cluster apart with some different colors they offer. (these are e90 faces)

Great color choice.Looks good.

How do you find the illumination of any warning lights in the daylight.
I did the overlay a few years back from a different supplier and not happy with that aspect of the modification.

Not sure if possible but I'd like a blue. Maybe something like Polar Blue found in the BMW M2.

They're visible but I think any other color other than orange would be better since the warning light are orange. Remember these are not stickers that overlay the stock faces, these are actual replacements that are printed on clear plastic so quality is pretty good. You can see how the light comes through the white print nicely.

If we did a group buy you guys would be able to pick from 10 different colors as each face is printed individually. To get an idea of colors the below is what the e90 M3 gauges look like in difference colors.

no, the outer ring is a separate piece. Also, the number are white which illuminates with the backlight so putting a sticker over it would only be viewable in the day.

Got ya. So for us Canadian with US Gauges.

options are.

1. keep US outer ring and retain kph on the face as is.
2. source kph outer ring and delete mph in the face
3. keep US outer ring and delete kph on the face.

since there isn't a mph inner to scan from?

correct?

thanks for finding this..

I love it! Count me in. Swapping these out is a piece of cake. Just requires delicate hands.

1. keep US outer ring and retain kph on the face as is. YES, we can also move the numbers closer to the out rim so they are not so condenced in the centre.
2. source kph outer ring and delete mph in the face YES
3. keep US outer ring and delete kph on the face. YES, this is the option for all our American friends

We can make a custom inner scan of mph if needed but I don't know why anyone would want this, alos this would only work if you have a Canadian cluster with an out KMH.

Only if you don't drive that much in Canada and most miles are from driving to/from US tracks most of the time.
