Clear Front Side Markers
Does anyone know the part number or have a source for the clear/white front side reflectors shown in the photo below?
Seems to be standard on European models. |

Real oem has US and European parts - http://www.realoem.com - I didn't think the european models had reflectors.

I didn't either, but I believe for those that do they are clear. And from what I remember they cant be ordered from US dealerships. Much like how OEM CSL wheels and other M3 CSL parts have to be shipped here.

A friend that lived in the UK picked up a set for me right before he returned to the States. On a black car, this mod does wonders.

Does anyone have a contact in Europe that might be willing to make a group buy of the Euro Clear Front Side Markers? Just a thought. I have searched the web and can't find any place (stateside) that offers these for sale.

Thanks, but I actually meant for the orange reflectors below the headlights, not the side turn signals. I've got an '05, so those are already clear for me.

Uh the orange reflectors below the headlights are not reflectors they are for your blinkers. The pre-06 Z4s have a long strip of amber that runs along the bottom and up the side. The only fix I've seen is tinting it, but i haven't heard of anyone taking apart their headlights to get rid of the amber.

Sorry to resurrect this thread, but I looked and couldn't find anything. Has anyone posted a DIY on removing/replacing these reflectors? If it's not too hard I think I might be able to get a friend in Germany to send me some (or do a group buy, if others are interested).

Put together a group of people interested, and I can get a bunch.

I think you need to peel back the fender lining to get to the nut that holds the reflector on. Unbolt the nut and the reflector comes off.

What kind of fasteners are holding down the fender lining? I didn't pry around too much but I'm wondering if they can be screwed off or need to be pried out.
Thanks! |

Actually they are nuts that sort of screw onto the tapered shaft of the reflector (two per reflector). It is very difficult to get them off because of the clearance behind the shafts.
I got frustrated trying to remove the suckers; I took a short cut, and just snaped the the orange reflectors off by putting a trim removal tool underneath them. The shafts snapped off the relflector. I installed the clears with the 3m body molding two sided tape (the black, thick tape). It sticks like glue! |

Not many things beat the feeling of successful mods:
(before the rear reflector was subdued) Good luck with your group buy.
