I agree speed is relative in general but at 140mph and visuals flying by, yea it feels fast so anything over 130mph imo esp given the experience and sense of how long it takes to brake and respond at that speed makes it feel tip-toey at least in a BMW if that makes any sense.

Have to agree here - I've got my M4c up to 143 on super clear hwy. That's fast. Only once. I frequently drive like a grandfather.

These cars get to 120 w/o an issue. I'd say 130+ is "fast".

Depends on the track or event (ie standing 1/2 mile). This is a question I would not think twice about from a 6 grader, but here we are.

Where I live, fast is dictated by how many deer there are and how old they are.

It depends on the conditions, what situations could arise, and your skill level or tolerance for risk. It’s a calculation that’s very individual. If you are out of touch with the physics involved or environmental risks the posted speed limit is a good choice.

You make an excellent point. I have the same impression. At RA I can just nip 150 with my M2C on the front straight and if I go hard and late brake into turn 1 with the rear getting squirrelly then I feel it’s fast. Especially with traffic. Otherwise it’s just a number.

Honestly, 300kph. You start to feel the world coming at you instead of you going towards it.

Fast? to me is when you feel a bit "overloaded" depending on what you're driving and when. You must consider road conditions, wet/dry surface etc.

In general, speaking on the Autobahn/motorway (in Italy), you're fast above 250 km/h in dry conditions.

Not sure how much was left on the accelerator, but after that, I backed off... Not so much due to any limitations on the car.. but I had enough !!

Could have been due to being overseas, road being nearly empty with traffic, being in a rental car, my skill...all of above..
What are you referring to? There's no such thing as a motorway with no speed limit in the UK...
There is no Peugeot that can go that fast either.

^This^ is the most accurate answer so far, imo.

As others have mentioned, "Too Fast" is a relative term depending upon a lot of factors.

Case in point:

My recent experience with Law Enforcement's Finest.
By no means did it feel "too fast" to me. Actually, was still quite comfortable.
Officer "C" had a different opinion, but was kind enough to issue my ticket for 10 mph over 55 limit. He was also diligent enough to write down my actual speed in the comment section in case I had the notion to fight it out in court. lol

Well, it was about 15 years ago. If there was, I didn't see any signs.. and rest of traffic was motoring along pretty fast.

Roads don't need signs to have speed limits, though. Every road has a speed limit, signs are not mandatory.
The limit is 70 mph.

We were in Montreal at the end of July with our new '23 X5, insane how many potholes and crappy roads you have. Also car thefts galore from Hotel parking lots, every GD night a car was stolen from the Hampton Inn on Hwy 40, west island. Apparently car thefts are all over Montreal. Our X5 was not touched thank God, had a club on my steering wheel and a faraday pouch for my key fob. Police obviously don't give a crap about the car thefts, been going on for years. Scumbags drive them to the port of Montreal put them in containers and ship them overseas.
Next visit I will fly and will rent a car.

i live near a reasonable straight stretch of toll road in TX and have hit 150 at least once a month when traffic and weather permit. I have hit 165-170 didnt feel that fast closed in on other cars and hit the brakes. younger days 125-130 was a weekend occurance in cars. then 150 or so on bikes bikes are shady one the road. pebbles to the knee cap really hurt, so to bugs.

I got pulled over once on the bike though for sure i was going to jail. cop asked if i thought (the 202 PHX AZ) was my personal race track told me i would die from the wreck Id die from the other cars running me over, get a new rear tires, slow down and have a nice day. not is such nice words but that was the gist.
