seat foam repair
I am looking to restore my drivers seat cushion that is pretty much crushed. Anybody tried this? Its the very bottom piece that needs attention in my case.

I see you're in the GTA.
Contact Steve Bettencourt @ Innovative Auto Interiors in Markham. Steve has done lots of work for me in the past including rebuilding my Z4MC seats. |

I'm not sure what seats you have in your Z4. But BMW sells the foam underneath the seat cover for a reasonable price (IMO). Custom foam work can be expensive. If your seat cover is in good shape, maybe just consider replacing the foam with the BMW OE part. I've done it on several of my high-mileage BMWs. You can easily remove the seats and take them to an upholsterer, or if you are into DIY, you can replace the foam yourself. BMW carries replacement seat covers as well. Realoem.com will help you figure out what part numbers you need.
As an example, the base seat (e.g. vs. the sport seat) foam base is:

Thanks for the suggestion. I've explored the option but for my M Coupe that part is $540 + duties + taxes imported to Canada. If only it was as cheap as for regular seat I'd have ordered and replaced it by now . I think that price for the sport seat cushion is quite retarded to be honest. So perhaps I'll put that on the back burner for now. I do hate that its crushed though, I don't think its good for my back like this.

belcom look for a local upholsterer. I had my non M seats recovered with new foam and built up bolsters for a reasonable IMO price.

Gotcha Dave, will call a couple shops. Already called the Innovative guys. They wanted me to drive by or send pictures of the issue.
But also as I was researching more, I think the actual part I was looking at originally was not the correct one. If I am correct, i can get the original foam for about $320 usd. Realoem has different options and its not clear 100% which one is which. So need to call local dealer and confirm I am looking at correct part number. |

Agreed - took mine out to a local guy who restuffed the lowers for less than $100 for both and I can't tell he was even in there - seats look 100% the same, but feel SO much better. Still not a great seat, but way better than they were.
