95% sure the answer is “no.”
I’m certain my ‘06 Z4M doesn’t have the intelligence charging. Hard to believe the same platform one year later does for you.

You do have to reset your windows, though.

I seem to remember that I had to also re-pair my Bluetooth, and reprogram my radio buttons. There may be other settings in the menu that get lost.

I just had my battery disconnected from installing BlueBus so this is fresh in my memory. Other than windows (for auto up/down), only time and date and a few basic settings need to be corrected. If you use the trip odometer for anything, you'll lose that info once the battery is disconnected..

What if a battery tender is attached to the charge points in the engine bay while changing the battery? It seems the system would remain charged while the batteries were quickly swapped, eh? No real safety concerns with that, I wouldn’t think, as long as one is mindful during the process.

Honestly, it's probably more effort to go the battery tender route than just setting time/date and the window memory. It doesn't take long at all and you could even deal with the windows the next time you drive the car.

I personally wouldn't keep the car on a tender while working on it with the battery disconnected. It is not that hard or untimely to just disconnect it.

I can see pro's/con's but haven't thought hard enough about what the con's might do for the battery or anything else. That's just me, though.
