Tekarbon vs EBay CF spoiler for coupes

About 5 weeks ago I placed and order for a Tekarbon CF spoiler in a 2x2 weave. Today they told me that they made the part wrong and there will an additional delay. I'm considering just getting their 1 x 1 weave but I'm not completely sold on the look of the weave. I see similar spoilers on eBay in a 2x2 weave

http://m.ebay.com/itm/181356789780?_mwBanner=1

My question is has anyone purchased the ones on eBay and are you happy with them?

Yeah the Tekarbon has gotten good reviews all around but they are taking way too long. It's been so long that I'm considering the Ebay one. Looking for feedback on the quality of those.

How long is the additional delay? If its a few weeks, makes no difference in the end if you end up with a quality product. Wait it out, nothing worse than wishing you waited for the original order if your not happy with your ebay purchase.

Good point Vanne, I'm waiting on the response of how much more additional time they need. I must say their customer service response times are pretty poor. Not sure what everyone else's experience is. If it's just a couple weeks I may just wait. Or I could just get their 1 x 1 weave which is in stock. I'm just worried I might not want that look (looks too dot matrix like for my taste)

I would wait...if it was me. See this thread on the risk of an ebay type spoiler => http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=82320

I've been wanting one for a while too, but just don't want to deal with the BMW beta link stuff. And the double sided tape leaves too much gaps, especially on the side edges, for my liking. How are you planning on attaching it?

I think I had a post here somewhere re installing.....

Use the d.sided tape, then mask off the lip and hatch so that just the joint area is exposed.

Use a fine bead of black silicon that will hide the joint.
Put it on fine then smooth it with your finger and a bit of soapy water ( or spit )

Comes out great without the issues of the BMW beta link.

Thanks. Would be awesome if you can dig up some pictures of your handy work, especially around the side edges

Decided to stay with Tekacarbon based off everyones comments. They said they can have it to be in 2 weeks which isn't bad. Thanks for all the feedback!
