Iphone 12 issues

I used to connect my iphone 8 just fine to my 2007 Z4. It would connect via Bluetooth and i was able to answer calls and make calls perfectly fine using hands free through the stereo. However, my iphone 12, it does not like. Once i connect it via Bluetooth it syncs fine, but as soon as i make a call or answer a call and hang up, it goes into some strange mode that i cannot get out of. The radio will no longer work, and i am unable to make or receive any more calls. To get it to reset, i have to disconnect the battery. This is happening in both my Z4 and also my 2008 X3. It must be something with the new phone. Annoying.

Any solutions to this? My last resort would be to buy the BlueBus and wire that up.

I had the same problem, 2007 3.0i with mobile phone prep package, iPhone 12 would not disconnect after a call.
If you pull & replace fuse 49 it will reset everything and allow you to use the radio, but you'll have to do it every time you make a BT phone call.
I disconnected my phone and don't use BT any more.
