Garagistic Reinforcement kit

Can anyone tell me if this reinforcement kit from Garagistic will work for an E86 M coupe?

Hey Chris,

We appreciate you reaching out to Garagistic support! When it comes to your question, we have not personally done reinforcements on Z4 here at the shop, but with this being said, in theory, your car should be basically all E46 suspension, so without being able to confirm fitment, I do think a majority of the E46 reinforcements would work for your application.

Chris, what specifically are you trying to re-enforce? The Z4 is much much stiffer than the E46, which is why you won't hear much talk of re-enforcement plates/patches on the e85/86 platform. What exactly is your issue?

No issue at the moment but I read stories of subframe cracks, shock tower warping and punctures, cast aluminum control arm punctures, rear trailing arm cracks, etc.
Next winter I will be tearing the car down to the shell to replace all wearable rubber bushings and clean, refinish all components. So while I'm in there I thought I would preemptively fix what may or may not be showing signs of fatigue.

As far as I am aware, they are more 'peace of mind' on the E85/86 than the E46.
That said, coilovers etc. will obviously put those areas to more stress and reinforcement plates would be beneficial.

BMW made a factory plate as well for the front at least.

Half of the items in their kit would be useful.
RSM plates
Rear spring perch plate
Motor mount reinforcement
Strut tower plate (BMW also makes this plate)

This is not needed for the z4 platform.

front tower reinforcement if your running a stiff coil over, rear top mounts, outside of that enjoy.

i havent one reported RTA failure, engine mount area failure , subframe cracks for this platform.

I have to agree with Beedub here. I run my car hard at the track, and often, with stiff springs/aero. I also inspect all areas of suspension/chassis often. I did have the front top shock towers "balloon" and have photos of that on another thread. Other than that, front and rear "top" reinforcements all you need.
