Lowered Price! ESS Supercharger for Z4M - 455hp - complete - 10k mi - $4k

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
Sold

Item Interest
Hey friends, I'm selling the supercharger that was in my 08' Z4M Roadster for about 10k miles because of California's stupid smog rules. I bought the kit new from ESS . Back then they sold two versions, a 455hp, 5psi kit without a front mount intercooler and an 8psi kit that made big power, but required more modifications and tends to have CEL issues. Mine is the 5psi kit and ran perfectly. ESS no longer sells this kit, but they do support the tuning of your ECU, which you will need to pay them to do. I installed the kit myself in two evenings and uninstalled it in about the same time, after which you could not tell the engine had ever been modified. The power boost is huge. The power curve is very linear and the first tune they sent me was perfectly dialed. Here's a link to the 525hp version they sell now. I'm selling mine for $3,750 plus shipping from California. Please call or text me with questions.

Thanks!

Ash 408.314.3909

Pics: It's all there, right down to the second version of the intake they sent me. I labeled a bunch of things that I had to figure out on my own, to make the install easier for the next owner. I broke in the supercharger very carefully per Vortech's instructions and changed the oil in it twice in 10k miles.

We have gotten 539 whp (630-640 bhp) out of this same non-intercooled setup and E85, water/meth, and supporting mods. The potential for big power is there, and you're not necessarily limited to the ESS upgrade path. GLWS.

Cool, thanks. Super nice of you to chime in to advertise your services on my post. I'll bet you could get even more power if you bore and stroke it or how about an LS swap!.. Or one could spend $4k for 125hp and not blow up second gear. Just sayin.

Pokeybritches is one of the most respected posters on this forum. If anything, his post would help you sell a second hand kit.
At very least the new owner will need a tune to run the SC.

GLWS.

Agreed. If I was a buyer, I would definitely want alternatives to ESS for tuning as that would be the biggest hold back on an SC kit, especially second hand.

Thank you for chiming in, Barton. I totally understand I'm a new fish in a new pond. I meant no disrespect to Pokeybritches and will let him know. At first read, it sounded like he was knocking the ESS setup. When I modded my car there was very little available for it. It's great to see there's other tuners out there, especially here in the states, that can help enthusiasts like us tune these things. This kit is not doing any good sitting in a box In my garage, so I think I'm going to lower the price.

Thank you,

Ash
