Got in a 16 mile ride today, mostly trail with a short section of road thrown in. Nice, easy ride. HR didn't even touch my threshold zone. I clocked 110 miles this week, which helped make up for the low mileage last week after I wrenched my back.

The route I ride tapering into a country road is very slightly uphill going away from home and coming back with the wind behind it's 24th gear in some places making for an exciting ride (35mph on some stretches) with a good feeling. It can't be compared with an indoor bike workout.

Finally feeling back to full strength. Good ride tonight. Shorter than normal, but I felt strong the whole ride.

Congrats! Did you order it or was it on the floor at a bike shop? Or private party sale?

Thank you! I ordered the bike/parts after a fitting session. Shop had the frame in stock, as well as the SRAM drivetrain and wheels. Took about a week for the handlebar/stem to arrive from Utah but overall it took only about a week. Got lucky with current situation of parts shortage and global shipping problems.

Hey Brian, I was amazed at your recent group ride at warp speed. Did you really hit 56MPH? That's insane.

My brother lives in Fairfax. I'm trying to get him into biking but I'm not having much luck with it.

Haha yep, that's a fast bunch given the route, it's like old race sim for me just about. I believe the 56mph is pretty accurate, I've repeatedly hit 55+ mph there it seems per the data, I had to brush the brakes if I remember because I wasn't fully on the front. I think a couple of weeks ago my data did show 58.6mph or something on the same descent when I let it fully roll

Haha...especially here, its tough I think. Huge toxic relationship between motorists and cyclists, it's hard to convince people to try it!

Seems I'm unlucky lately with another rear puncture before a ride so ordered two new inner tubes and throwing the patched up ones away.

I suffered through multiple tube punctures on the same wheel. I decided to do a thorough inspection of the tire and found a very thin wire embedded in the tire carcass. Pulled the wire, installed new tube and I haven’t had a flat since. If you can’t solve the puncture give the tire a good looking over.

We're experiencing near perfect biking weather here this week. Temps in the low 70's, light winds, and very dry. I'm getting ready to head out now for a couple of hours.

I finally took the plunge and converted to Tubeless Road.

It's a bit of a hassle on the setup (and you have to remember to refresh your sealant about every four months or so), and you want to check your tire pressures at every ride--

BUT..... it's SO worth it to not have to worry about punctures anymore on a ride.

R.

PS: I *really* recommend Nox Composites-- what a great wheel!

I'll consider that but should I get another puncture I've had practice in removing the tube quickly and repairing with my puncture kit.

I tried tubeless road on 700x32 tires. Just didn't work. They either lost all the air after sitting for a few days or they'd lose air and sealant around the bead while riding. I went back and forth with the LBS for a couple for weeks and then gave up and went back to tubes. It might have just been the wheel/tire combo I was using, though.

While waiting for my inner tubes I checked the inside of tyre thoroughly and could find nothing there so resigned to the fact that it just needs replacing with new.
I also can't find my air valve key to make sure the valve screw is tight.
