A very important 1-2-FL for the RB team!

Very smart move from RB to pit Max for reds when he got really frustrated when DRS was failing and couldn't pass RUS.
Resetting Max' emotions and having him fly on reds, closing his 22sec gap in only 7 laps!
Very good drivers management from RB. RB shows once again that strategy wise they're the top.

I don't think Max' car was that much better. I think the ferrari was probably the fastest. But LEC had engine failure, and SAI, having the same car, just couldn't deliver.
And Max of course not only did close that 22sec gap on RUS, but also on PER.
PER had to let Max pass, but Max also was >1,5sec/lap faster at that time.
You don't want teammates fighting when one is so much faster but could never pass because of DRS failure.

Yeah . The Mercedes improved a lot ..
But RUS and HAM got overheating issues .

I’m quite surprised by the tire strategies for the race, I’d thought everyone would go for a 2 stopper starting on mediums and then switching to mediums-hards or hards-mediums. Very surprised the top runners didn’t use hards at all seeing how this track was just chewing through the tires.

I think based on how the 2022 season tires degrade, factoring in lap times and rivals' pace and time, and the hot ambient temperature at Catalunya….who the hell knows lol

These tires have been wearing fast this season. So team with best strategy, sprinkled in with some luck, seems to be coming out ahead so far. Been a fun season so far!

Mercedes improved a lot. But I think they need to start thinking about next season and making sure they're a top team for 2023 and beyond. They're the 3rd best team, and I don't think that will change this season….but Ferrari can still be Ferrari and Mercedes could pass them lol
