Looking @ a snow setup. Will 17" wheels fit the Z4M?

Just curious if anyone has any experience running 17s on the Z4M? I was looking on Tirerack and they have a wheel/tire package listed for a snow setup that would actually cost me less than buying 19" snow tires for my VMRs.

I called Tirerack and they said they guaranteed fitment, so that if they didn't fit, I could send them back for a full refund. However, as reassuring as that is, I'd rather not go through the hassle of getting them in and then having to send them back and what not, so I figured I'd throw a message out here.

The wheels on Tirerack are Sport Edition F5's (nothing special, but hey they're going in the snow!). They're 17x7.5 front offset is +40mm, rear offset is 20mm and they recommended 225/50R17s.

Thanks for any feedback!

Most fit. The front caliper on my 17s rubbed off my balancing weights near the front of the inner barrell. So the weights had to be clipped onto the face's rim.

It depends on the inner barrel design, the flatter the better

Good to know. It looks like tirerack really only has two options listed, so if you're saying most fit, hopefully I'm safe to trust tirerack's judgement in the cheap Sport wheels.

Anyone else run 17's with similar offsets like I listed to confirm?

Why not just pick up a use set of OE 18" wheels, which are guaranteed to fit. Then pick your favorite winter tires?

There are a couple sets (M and non-M) in the "for sale" section right now for a very decent price:

17" winter tires have taller sidewalls, and perform better
