Z4M braking mods

Hi Guys,

First of all sorry for my bad english, i am French...

I would like to share my experience about modification of my Z4M.

I use it only for track days, i still have a lot of stuff to do, but first impression are really good.

First of all the brake : i have a brembo kit front and rear with pagid RS29. Nice feeling, but i think to try AP racing... i like to change !

my pads were burned after some agressive track, so i decided to cool the brake. i choose an option with fan. As a result, pads temperature reduces from 100 degrees (i put a tempe sensor into the pads), so i am really happy with that modification. everything is "home made", pretty simple to do...

I need to upgrade the aero to have more downforce now.

here is some pics from brake, and other mods...

thanks for your replies

Next step i would like to replace my brembo caliper by AP racing setup front and rear.

So my brake are fore sale, full kit (caliper, pads, discs) if someone is interested

I have a lot of things to improve...but the feeling is good currently, even if it still remains to add some aero with wing and front splitter (APR will be a great choice, except if inTgr8r releases its AMAZING aero front bumper with splitter

I would like also to save more weight, so i plan to make carbon doors, rear trunk and fender if possible. I have a friend who work in a such activity, and he can help me!

I plan also to build carbon door panel, but not with plate carbon. I want to create a replica of the OEM door panel in carbon, as i would like to keep a great inside aspect of the car...

Currently the car weights 1320 kilos (2910pds), it is still too much !!

I am also planning to improve the engine. Indeed, I think it is time for the car and we are ready after 4 years of track day (20 tracks per year)..

So let's take place to AEM infinity ECU ! i have already bought it with an P&P M3 E46 harness. I also bought an OEM M3 E46 harness to modify my current one in order to use the AEM as it shoud work.

I don't still know if i create a 8 butterflys system with 8 watermeth snoozles, or directly add an ESS S/C with watermeth... i am not decided yet.

We have already made some nice tips on the stock engine to win some hp..

I have some "facilities" to develop my car as i own a shop with my partner in France. We are specialized in engine and chassis tuning.

I will post all other mods

Cheers !

Once you work out that AEM jumper harness you can make me one too! I'd love to run an AEM infinity.

Where did you get the aluminium pipes with a collar that you riveted to the brake disc protection plate for the brake cooling? What are they called? Tried to search here in Sweden but can't find anything similar.

Well, I could be interested. What are the specs and how much shipped to Atlanta, Ga USA?

What size and offset wheels are you using and what size tire have you fit?

As for carbon fiber door panels, save that mold as you may find interest in those for sure.

my brake are in the F/S thread.

Sale price is 2600USD, includes full set with discs, caliper, bracket, pads pagid...

Caliper are Brembo 4 pots front and rear. Everything is in excellent condition (more details in my ads).

I think shipping price will be more interesting if you buy only the full set without the brake discs (mine are OEM) as they really heavy!,

in a such case I can make 2300 USD shipped what do you think ? Or if you want full set with disc, 3000USD shipped ?

My wheels are APEX ARC-8, 9.5" ET35 with spacer only for the coilover, not for the caliper. tyre size are 255/650/18 (slick).

i will keep the mold do not worry

Thanks dude! I try to do my best to make effective and nice mods, everything has an impact, not only esthetic.

We are fitting an infinity AEM 8, which is compatible CAN BUS but only with M3 E46..not the same harness and ECU....

BUT we are modifying the existing harness to get it compatible !

There is some modification to do...i will explain once we will finish.

This ECu allows to switch 98 tunes in real time, such as bioethenol, with or without watermeth...

Then, before going to SC system, we would like to test velocity stacks conversion with watermethanol for my car (as PS design kit)! Let's do it to try it on track days! We will add agressive camshaft too.

Hi, i would like to inform you that we have finished the AEM harness...the car runs correctly, all cluster works, clim too!!!! yeah!!!!!

So please note that it is possible to fit an AEM Infinity 8 ecu into a Z4M, even if it designed for M3 E46 !!! There is a lot of modification to do into the harness, more complicated than expected.

I do not know if it has already done before maybe the first one in the world lol !

If people are interested in harness P&P with AEM infinity 8, i can provide them with it, i just need to get some M3 E46 engine harness before...

I am so happy with that mods! I will make some pics once we will finish it properly.

Now let's start engine mods!!
