Hi everyone. I have been eyeing Z4 M cars since I was in college 10 years ago and finally bought one late last year. We recently had our third child and the coupe is the perfect tool to take the oldest to kindergarten :-) I appreciate the LATCH system and airbag shut-off switch for taking the kiddos out 1-on-1.
It specifically has the black carbon fiber patterned leather dash that I really like. Everything was stock when I bought it with few changes since; Supersprint Race exhaust, OEM stubby antenna, and hard-wired a Valentine V1. No solid plans for any other upgrades as I need to get my E36 M3 polished up and sold. I am an engineer during the week and shade-tree mechanic on the weekends so I look forward to getting my hands dirty with this one. It has ~67k miles on it and I have done nearly all the fluids so far with the valve timing job coming up soon. I look forward to browsing more of the old posts as I learn more about the car. buying advice needed
Hello all --
Okay, I'm not a Z4 owner... YET. But I've been diligently searching for one in my area for the past six months. The problem has been finding one that checks most of my boxes (stick shift, unmodded/unmolested, relatively low mileage, preferably in one of the reds or blues). A 3.0 would be nice, but I'm not averse to a loaded 2.5. So I've been searching further and further away for more options, though that makes them more difficult to check out firsthand and adds to the final cost (shipping it or flying out to its location). This 2.5 looks very nice in its photos, and its Carfax seems clean. However, it's been sitting on their lot for a few months according to CarGurus. Also, I notice that its front lower lip is black -- aren't they all supposed to be body-colored? Would this indicate front-end body work? I'd be looking at around $9,500 altogether if I flew out there or had it shipped. Which is 3.0 territory. Is this one worth pursuing? It's about 500 miles away from me. https://www.my1stopauto.com/used/BMW/2003-BMW-Z4-db2f7aac0a0d0c14083870a9a0991ada.htm |

Hi all! About a month or so back I got my Z4. It's a 2003 3.0i. I'm enjoying it a LOT, esp now that I know about sport mode and holding the traction control button down for 5 seconds.
It had been in a couple minor run ins before I got it and I'm getting those straightened out. I am in KS but a friend going thru Indy picked up a door for me out there, it was the closest and cheapest silver one I could find. You can see the damage in one of the pictures. I found my new door on car-part.com, which is a site I recommend to everyone. It was the easiest door swap I've ever done, minus the lock cylinder, that is. Thanks, BMW! I also got the bumper to stop dropping off when hitting bumps, so that's cool too. Next are the hydraulic motor for the roof, a small tear in the roof and some little plastic things that are just falling apart in this car. The list of plastic pieces that have broken is pretty long. This car is so fun to drive that I looked into racing it and this week I hope to take it to the track at Heartland Park in Topeka, KS. Right now I'm getting the SRS light checked out at the local BMW dealer before racing it. That was my wife's EXCELLENT idea. I first joined z4-forums the night I got the car (I hope it's okay to mention other forums here) but it looks like everyone is in the UK on that forum and ultimately I hope to be able to take part in some local meets with this car. I attached a couple pictures from the day I got it. I'm not sure how to put them inline so there they shall remain. -Stephen |

Howdy from Texas
Hello Team:
New BMW car owner, Already own a BMW motorcycle (2012 R1200RT), was looking for a Z3 and then fall in love with the Z4. Got the 2006 Z4 3.0i with the premium and sport packages. 56,000 miles in the odometer, Car is in mint condition. $10,000 US. I think is a fair price for the mileage and the condition of the car. Already have some questions and will research the forum before asking questions. |

Nice to see that the older Zs are still getting some love and looking great!
Hey - there are a few of us from around the Midwest on here. I am even down in KC every now and then as that is where my brother and his wife live.

New Z4 owner
Hello,
New BMW owner checking in. Bought a 2007 Z4 E85 with N52 engine. Enjoying it as it is my first European car, other than old VW's that is. Car has 101,000 miles on it but in really great condition with perfect paint and interior. Maybe a few rock chips and bug stains on front lower bumper cover but that is all. I do my own mechanical work so still sorting out and learning the BMW oddities in design of power train. Like this forum over some of the other Z4 sights I have looked at so thought I would join. |

Hi there
Thought i would say hello My name is Oliver My first M car was a Z4MR in 2009 which i adored - it opened me up to a wonderful world of cars and track driving, bmw events..and even a couple of dates that seemed to go quite well, at least for the driving part I sold that in 2015 but always wanted to get back into a MC This was Chris Fine's car from this old build thread https://www.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=403119 Somehow it fell through a couple more people on its way to me Its a privilege to own a car that has had so much love and time spent on it I hope to carry on in this tradition Since i started driving it in March it has 16 track days with another 12 or so to go this season Its a mini beast GT3 hunter and a very special machine Thanks to everyone in its history for making it what it is - i'll be sure to take care of it. And by that i mean drive the pants off it, maintain it, drive the pants off it....lather, rinse and repeat

To the Group,
After 14 months my dream car came up for sale - 2011 Fire Orange e92 M3 with Competition Package and ... yes only 31,000 KMs or 19k miles With that in mind it was time to say goodbye to my 2007 Z4M roadster. It was a super fun car and I learned a lot from the members on this Forum. I will circle back from time to time but please be sure to continue to enjoy your "real BMW" Z-Cars. Cheers and see you on the road! Colin

Hello all!
Just bought my unicorn, a 2008 Z4 Coupe Black on Saddle Brown, and drove her home from Phoenix the other day. She did great on the road and got me here with no issues. Looking forward to spending more time on the forum! |
