I just bought them yesterday, delivered on the 20th, and fitted who knows. You will just have to wait.
I can tell you they are stainless, or mostly. Why is it so a company makes a range of goods that are black, but not all the same black. Some matt, some black stainless, some gloss; then when you get to the range hood its in standard ol silver stainless only. So I ended up swapping to good ol stainless silver for all, HOWEVER, the fridge with the water dispenser only comes in matt black. I mean who decides this stuff. Thankfully the fridge is hidden away in the butlers pantry so it doesn't matter what colour it is. |

So not happy with how much mess has been made internally from bedrooms to kitchens, it was time to start on the outside. My foray into owner builder all stated with this flyover. Erected, working, and happy but cost me 35K.
So when I discovered I can do the proposed car port for 11K delivered with engineering and the same company, it all changed. My two greyhound carpenters, 2 family members, 2 ring inns, a BBQ, some beers and some cash it was up in half a day. No sooner it was up this bloke arrived with 8 pallets of bricks. Guess who's coming on the weekend. |

Well you'd think so, or builders certainly quote so, but really its just build a new carport, move and fill around a few windows and garage doors, rearrange some non load bearing internal walls, then polish.
I have thanked my greyhound carpenter so many times his ears are probably bleeding. Made lunch, bough lunch, countless coffees as way of expressing my gratification for his work ethic, attitude, and skill. Plus I know exactly what his costing. Yesterday we took the southern side garage window and moved it 4ft to the center of the new room. So it stated like this then we made a whole heap of noise and dust, but who cares when the nail gun sounds like a Stormtroopers blaster. Think we put one or two more nails in then what's required. and it finished looking like this ready for the bricklayer today. Yes I have a glaziers job to do. The garage at the rear had a single roller door which we replaced with the old living room window. And the front double door was easy as it was just frame it up and add a window and new front door. I bought a matching window, well almost, from second hand building material supplies for 1/3 the price of a new one so happy days. |

A few pics of the fully tiled bar. All of the appliances arrived today (…e.g. Zephyr refrigerator, Blackstone, grill, drawers, cabinet, etc.), and install will be next Monday or Tuesday. Once those items are installed the TV will be remounted and the outdoor kitchen will be mostly complete (…there are still some issues with the leathered granite countertop that need addressing).

During the fabrication process, the granite countertop company made approximately seven, 2” surface level gouges toward the back of the granite where it meets the border/backsplash, so those areas need to be filled and the granite polished again (…and resealed).

A few night pictures. I was playing with the pool lights and brushing the pebble. Two more weeks of brushing to help get all loose plaster dust filtered out of the pool.
Every time I’m in the yard I realize how much still needs to be completed; everything from 10+ additional landscaping lights to replacing/planting additional Texas Privets to fixing some chipped pavers. The contractors set up the irrigation incorrectly and as a result, three of the Privets don’t look so good and may need to be replaced. I upped the water significantly Wednesday, and when I arrived home today I noticed significant new growth in all of the plants and every single vine; beautiful, waxy, bright green new growth. It was really beautiful to see and it was a reminder of the contractor’s irrigation miscalculation. The plants and trees were starting to look stressed. I am having the hard talk with the contractor tomorrow. Last edited by Sedan_Clan; 03-22-2026 at 10:37 PM.. |

We can't see all the little things that you can, but I understand the frustration though!
Pool looks beautiful. How deep again did you say it was? Rant: I heard (and maybe this is only in Florida) that new pools can't be deeper than 5 feet. Which is stupid I think - its presumably meant for children to protect them from drowning, but the ones likely to drown are probably shorter than 5 feet to begin with, so they can still drown just as easily in 5 feet vs 12 feet. Same end result, just stupid government intervention where they ought to stay out and you can make your pool whatever depth you'd like whether that's 5 feet, 12 feet, or anything in between. /Rant |

Not sue who HOA is, but down under they would not be allowed. Seen as a climbing hazard for littlins. In sayin that my son climbed the flimsy vertical pool fence first time he encountered it. Couldn't reach the opening latch so just went over, but that's safety.

Downunder we have to fence the pool which in Sedan's case could be gated on the sides, but the living room entrance would need a fence or fixed glass. Then in my case I have a fence around the pool, but 25ft a way an 30x8ft deep frog pond which it totally acceptable. For me I feel how about some proper parenting instead of staring at the phone. |

Bit of bricking. Turns out the bricky is a great bloke. Capable, clean, tidy, presentable and also knows a renderer. So happy days. I got the apprentices job or keying (cutting out half bricks) to lock in the new bricks. Glad it was not many.
And yeh yeh it looks shit at the moment. But got some wall sheeting up and the corner of the kitchen back in level and screwed off in its hole. Can give the cabinmate maker measurements now for the the new cabinmates. Fridge and oven cavity today |
