SWEEET!! RG-R's? Size/Weight/Cost? I really like the stock wheels on the Z4M, but if I were going to replace them - it would be those.
New tires on my sled today - Pilot Sport 4S, the newest flavor of the PS series. Rave reviews. Too early for me to know anything, have only driven home about 10 miles, but I will say they are DAMN QUIET! I need to put a few hundred miles on them to lose the slipperiness then head for the hills and give them a workout.

Very cool. I had a set of 15" RG-F's on my 2-liter Scirocco about 15 years ago. 12.9 lbs apiece. The difference in unsprung weight had a stunning effect on driving dynamics.

@ShakyDog, I wish I had the magic formula! We take what we can get around here. Which can mean 70 one day and 25 the next...
@racerbruce, I nabbed some used H&R springs off of another forum member. Have a little over 12k miles on the car now.

Curious if anyone has tried one of these fm transmitters in their Z4's yet? My aux jack is ok, but being an analog input, it does add some "fuzz" to the music. I went ahead and ordered this gizmo to see if it's worth it -but curious if anyone has tried it and has had success? I currently have an iPhone 6s, but buying an iPhone XR this weekend. So, if those that have tried it have newer phones, I'd be curious how they stack up with older phones. Here's the website http://www.iphonefmtransmitter.com/iphone

I tried one when I first got the car and hadn't installed the aux jack yet. There isn't a single open frequency in Pasadena, so it was always getting interference. If you're in the boonies, you might be OK.

An FM transmitter will definitely not sound good. In my experience, it's hard to find a clean frequency and the output signal on those tiny devices is simply sub par.
If you have a fuzzy signal or experience buzzing with the AUX input, you should check and see if the cable is faulty, the connection is loose, or consider getting a ground noise isolator and see if that helps. Unfortunately as much as I like my iPhone, the sound output that they produce over AUX is really not that great. |

Thanks guys - I'll report back once I've gotten it. That was my general feeling as well with the radio frequencies, one of the stations is already occupied for this specific unit, but the other really isn't, so I'll give it a whirl. I ran over to a local car stereo shop just now to talk to them about a Grom in lieu of this. If this doesn't work, I know the Grom is the best alternative to otherwise completely ripping the system out and installing a new one(which I really don't want to do. I prefer stock on the interior if at all possible.

6.5 months later I finally got my CSL Airbox. Ordered a Euro bumper along with it, which is why the box is so big.
But with the holidays, and then a business trip to Korea planned next week, I might need to wait until the new year to install it

I haven't been home yet - my brother received the package and put it in the garage (and then sent the pictures). The box arrived intact with nothing loose inside, so should anything be broken my beef wouldn't be with UPS.
You can bet it'll be open within 5 minutes of me walking in the door.

Finally got the section 1 02 & EGT bungs welded in today.
A little upset though, EDGE Motorworks in Mountain View recommended the muffler shop next door for the job and I am not impressed by the results. There look to be two pinholes near the EGT bung, and the welds overall seem not great. I feel like I got robbed, because he charged me $450 for 3hrs labor at $150/hr. That seems excessive for a muffler shop. Anyways lesson learned to be extra careful in the future. |

You should be demanding your money back. Those are shit welds. And now you have to find a way to fix them.
