So I finally finished getting the supercharger installed this past weekend, but have been experiencing hesitation issues when going WOT. Originally VF and I thought that maybe it was due to spark plugs. But after swapping out to a colder-running set of copper plugs, I still have the same issues. Anyway, this makes it so that I may not be able to track the car next Saturday. I spoke with Dave Mills and here are my options:
1) sell my spot to someone that wants to track in my place (or in a different run group if they have room) and lose $15 transfer fee 2) get a refund sans $45 fee So...is anyone interested in going that has not yet signed up for Saturday May 25th? BTW, I'll still be going to see you guys and probably do ride-alongs if you guys don't mind. But I just won't be driving my car edit: a friend of mine is willing to let me track is bone stock Mazda RX-8, so I might just bring my car to the track to represent the Z4 crowd, but drive his car on track at worst case scenario (if I can't get my car running perfect by then). But I plan onnnn: 1) Using my car, just won't go full-throttle. Maybe run in point-by group instead of Open 2) Switch out car with my friend's Mazda RX-8 and/or Lotus Elise 3) Maybe switch with Scott since he's bringing his Porsche Turbo S |

http://www.hookedondriving.com/event...ce_Day_at_MRLS At $350, definitely not cheap. Anyone? |

I love Laguna, but I'll never pay more than $250 for it
NCRC's typical Laguna prices are around $170. MUCH more worthwhile. In any case, I won't be doing any more track days for at least a month or so. Heading down to SoCal for a short trip, and I'm going to visit VF Engineering's headquarters to get my car looked at and for a custom dyno tune. |

I just got back from buttonwillow yesterday.
Makes me appreciate Laguna Seca for the 1.5 hr drive, cooler weather, nicer scenery, and better food (still could be better for the price) Probably will be doing Laguna on 7/3 and Thunderhill on 6/29 |

Now, if only AAA and the local two-truck companies around the Monterey-Peninsula area can get their shit together I swear, every time I see two trucks now, I have a relapse of that God-awful night lolol |

It's so quiet here lately.
After doing 2 back to back weekends at buttinwillow, and Laguna seca yesterday, I have to say Laguna is sooo much better. Better scenery and a cool 85F with light breeze. |

Heheh what'd I tell ya? Laguna is the shiznit!
I just got back from SoCal trip late last night. 2AM this morning to be exact. After VF worked on my car, it's noticeably smoother and more powerful now. Will need to go dyno again some time to see where I'm at now. Prior to SoCal trip it was only putting down 370rwhp and 300rwtq peaks. Compared with RatedMRoadster's setup, I'm supposed to be at 470rwhp and 330rwtq. |

So it's time for you to come back to the shiznit
7/30 with hooked on driving. I have to say that hod is very well run. Instructors are helpful and more efficient in getting cars in and out track between sessions. Towing disabled cars are done without interruption to the session. Tow truck driver points you by lol $350 is a bit steep, but it comes with lunch and bottled water I'm likely going again with these guys http://www.hookedondriving.com/event...July...perfect! |

haha, I unfortunately need new tires and still want to address my oil cooler AN-fittings due to current small (but steady) leak. May need new hose for it. But other than that, the car is ready for you

Lon, good to hear your SC is performing better. What did they say the issue (s) were? Definitely need to get that oiling system into bulletproof status before going on track again! |

In class session include a video of the instructor on the track for 1 session. Showing his lines and mistakes of others. I thought that was useful. And seeing a Z8 on the track... Totally worth it - I almost cried http://gotbluemilk.com/web130703/15/index.html |

hahhaha nice! I've never seen a Z8 tracked before! Awesome
Ron, they found minor issues with hardware (couplers leaking air and/or loose, throttle linkage hindered from full actuation, etc.), and then they tweaked the software for me so that my setup boosted higher, consistently; as well as leaned out the mixture a bit since my AFRs were TOO rich. It's noticeably smoother and faster now, but I'm honestly not sure if it's 470rwhp. Will have to dyno again when I get a chance. Right now, definitely the oil cooler fittings and hose as priority as I don't want any leaks nor blowouts ever again. |
