I was sleeping on the idea of one of these for the last few years but hesitated because of the danger with lipo batteries (funny to think nitro is actually safer). I have read horror stories of homes burning down overnight.

But I feel comfortable with how to handle these now, store them, and keep them in some battery safes. The Traxxas charger setup you can bundle with xrt or xmaxx makes it super easy. You just plug them in and balance charge before use, or storage charge when no planned use for more than a few days.

Maybe down the road I’ll add an XRT but right now this is plenty! Haha
Yeah, the batteries were a big concern of mine as well, but they have secure storage containers. I would not own one without those, as I have heard those horror stories too.

In my case it would just be the lack of time to use it. Will see what the future holds. But ya, a XRT Ultimate would be a blast. But is for sure overkill.

Enjoy it with your boy!! Great memories to be made!

Too depressed to post in the golf thread. Was playing with them first round Saturday and hitting them very well. 10th hole threw my back out.

Hoping a week of rest and rehab and back in the saddle.

Oh damn! I am sorry to hear that! Was it a weird swing you needed to take or just a normal shot?

I try to limit my yardwork during the season or lift anything heavy for this very reason. I don't want to miss any time.

I hope you have a very speedy recovery! Do you have a handheld stem machine? I have one and my back is 100x better within a few days.

Normal swing. I am (ahem) elderly and don't overswing. Just happened. The funniest part was the first swing I tried after injury was on a par 3 185 yards with a 5i. I stopped turning at contact and my hands alone finished the swing. I was in pain. The guys pointed out I should do it more often as I was putting for birdie.

I need to look into this stem machine thing. Hoping to play Saturday and Sunday.

Got mine off of Amazon. I have had three right shoulder surgeries and it was used on my shoulder a lot to help promote fast healing by sending electrodes to the area! I am no doctor, but it has done wonders for any time I pull anything or strain something on my body.

Is it your lower back? If so, do some hamstring stretches. It's all connected.

It's actually a stim, not stem, machine. The type that you attach the electrode patches to your skin and send a mild electrical pulse to contract the muscle. They've been around forever. Remember "Dr." Ho?

Ah. A TENS Unit.

I have one-- it's about the size of an iPhone and will power four pads.

I don't use it often, but when I need it, it's an amazing tool!

Two redbud trees. Wifey has wanted some redbuds for ages. We have one scraggly one along the edge of the yard, almost in the woods. But she wanted larger ones out in the front yard. Finally got them planted today.

M_Six we have the craziest old redbud that decided it would rather be a bench. Now I see some suckers trying to grow straight up at the base

I’ll just let it do its own thing, in 2 weeks it’ll be in full bloom but every year I say it’ll be its last.

We have about 15 other redbuds descended from it here, it throws saplings ll over the place. I always make sure I stake them upright.

Ours are well staked. Supposed to leave the stakes for two years so the roots can develop. My main concern is our crappy soil. Maybe a bit too much clay. Although there are dozens of redbuds in the neighboring yards and along the woodlines, so maybe it'll be ok.

Our soil isn’t the best, this one is on a light deprived hill and it was mature by the time we got here 26 years ago. I think yours will be straight, beautiful and just fine

I’m going to miss that beautiful backdrop though for coffee on the porch when she finally snaps. At least her kids are in good shape and will outlive me.

That's what Wifey wants to see. A nice full redbud out in the yard. Or two.
